  • Really needs to be a “DUUUUHHHH” community for stories like this.

  • Except there are zero contracts in place to actually build those data centers, nor is there enough power generated to run them. I really wish tech journalists would do the background to determine if what these documented liars are saying is even possible, never mind likely.

  • Thank you, Threads is a garbage pit.

  • It was always what its critics feared. Truly brave reporting from the Atlantic, 20 years late to the show.

  • People who are in wheelchairs still shower the same amount. Depending on the nature of their impairment they may be able to stand long enough to shower, or they may climb into the tub and have a shower bench, or they may have an assistant who helps them shower. It’s pretty ableist to assume that someone with a mobility impairment isn’t able to maintain their hygiene.

  • Kamau Bell posted a video about this, and how when you have a kid you teach them something, they say they got it, and a week later they ask about it again; and Joe Rogan is like that except he’s a full adult and he’s doing it with fascism.

  • Jesus was way cool. He turned water into wine, and if he wanted to he could have turned sugar to cocaine, wheat into marijuana, vitamin pills into amphetamines. He was so cool.

  • Debt: the First 5000 Years by David Graeber. He debunks the standard narrative of “barter, then hard currency, then systems of credit” that is commonly taught when discussing the history of economics, and goes into the conflation of financial debt and spiritual debt, leading to society placing moral weight on someone being in financial debt.

  • He makes you laugh, maybe even think. The cop is just a thug for capital.

  • The first part I’m not against, means-testing benefit programs makes them more susceptible to being destroyed through small cuts here and there because not everyone benefits in the first place. If democrats actually wanted to win, they could respond with “we shouldn’t discriminate, let’s make the benefit universal, you just need to use a childcare center who accepts our rate.”

  • How much do you want to bet that tightening licenses for childcare providers is a nonstarter for republicans because it would mean shutting down virtually all church-based childcare centers?

  • Can we get an archive link? Mediaite claims I’m using an adblocker when I’m not.

  • I appreciate the TLDW because the thumbnail made me think this was about bee vomit, not a scammy browser plugin

  • Pfft, I’ll take a 1996 that’s been driven like it was stolen.

  • I want Dr Oz to suffer a hilariously painful and fatal accident.

  • Every time I see that horrible fuck’s face I wish for horrible fates to befall him that I will not put in print.

  • Maybe I want sweet tomato glazed fries, did you ever think about that, Kevin?

  • In the trump administration, yes. But there’s a fuckton of wealthy influential people who probably had already spent a lot of money keeping Epstein silent and would take the opportunity to keep him from cutting any kind of deal (like, throwing every democrat and non-loyal republican under the bus while swearing Trump had no idea about the girls.) Plenty of those people have the money to hire a prison guard to engineer a dead camera and a “suicide” and do it in a way that was deniable.

  • He’s proven to be a dipshit and possibly way worse than that, but Stephen Pinker pointed out in the Language Instinct that if you think there aren’t just as many words in English for snow, you’ve never talked to a skier or snowboarder.
