  • The real guide is still either outdated or doesn't take into account that there's a lot more steps. But considering it's been 2 years, I don't hold that against the author

  • I think that's too simplified and it will create expectations that aren't true, because It's more like this:

    1. Choose instance

    1. Read & agree to Mastadon rules
    2. Read & agree to (instance) privacy terms
    3. Create account
    4. Tap the verification link in your email
    5. Solve the Captcha
    6. Get a list of people/users to follow (why these people? What is it based on?)
    7. Setup profile
    8. Done!
  • Ah sure, we just don't see the other bars I guess

  • Isn't that the wrong axis? Should be on the vertical one

  • For lack of guts she brought a gutsy look today

  • Gaming is apparently hitting all the buttons on the controller all the time

  • In my experience, they always hire anyone with a pulse and pay them peanuts. Finding a competent and motivated person is a lot harder then.

The only one where they had some sort of screening was because it was support for the government

  • The beauty about an RPG is the RP part: you craft your own story and do whatever you like. With every Elder Scrolls iteration, that freedom became less and less.

  • Context for the picture: then Prime Minister Mark Rutte was sharing some funny video with our king Willem Alexander. This was during the opening of a UN meeting, while Trump was giving a speech (2019)

  • There should be no issue running the two screens, especially for home office use.

The size difference might be annoying though, depending if you mind such kind of things. There's also a difference in scaling so if you'd move a window between the two screens they might look a bit different and that could also be annoying, if you get annoyed by that kind of thing.

So yeah, it might not be the prettiest or most consistent as opposed to the same size screen and/or same resolution, but practically it should work just fine.

Edit: for more than one screen (not counting the laptop screen) you're probably going to need a dock that allows multiple screens via HDMI

  • Do they work world wide?

  • I'm in this picture! But it's pretty obvious if a cat wants to be left alone. I usually crouch down and go pspsps but if they don't take the bait, I respect that and leave them alone.

  • I've never asked ChatGPT to fix a syntax error because I use Copilot

If you are going to be this pedantic, I'll have you know Copilot is a ChatGPT model in a Microsoft skin.

  • That's the remaster.

    The original is very green

  • Suspension of disbelief is definitely a thing. It's also a lot easier to catch things going on when you're spectating vs playing yourself, kinda like tunnel vision.

  • Yep, you can recognize it by the text style and the skip button, and some might recognize it by the less goofy looking faces:

    And

  • Funny you mention that! I was actually playing Oblivion when I went from CRT to 720p and the difference felt like putting on glasses.

It's when I realized there was actually a border around the loading screen that had sketch-like art.

  • What an Oblivion mountain lion actually looked like:

Kinda crazy how we remember games to look better than they actually did. Like the remastered version is as good looking as I remember the game, but obviously the differences are huge. Weird how that works!
