  • An actual recall that requires a hardware fix / replacement this time, and not a software update.

Am I reading the PDF right in that 1% or 2,431 trucks are affected, meaning they sold ~240k trucks?

Edit: official numbers are more around 30-40k worldwide as far as I can find. Idk how to read it, perhaps they mean 2,431 is the maximum but the expectation is 1%?

  • I'm not upset about it, I'm just trying to receive recommendations on content curation.

Does scrolling past 5 posts that aren't even in your language sound like an appealing Lemmy experience?

  • I don't think it blocks users from that instance when you block the instance, just threads posted to said instance. I might be wrong, idk, but that's what I read before.

  • browsing by subscribed content works like that. I imagine it looks like I'm blocking everything and everyone but I'm just trying to curate my feed to make it as less noisy as possible

  • If you browse by "subscribed", you only see the communities you have joined. I sometimes browse "new" just to see what's happening now, and this shows all posts from any community (you haven't blocked). The sorting method "Active" is posts from 1-2 days ago and the content in "Hot" stays about the same throughout the day.

  • Oh really? I have only seen German communities coming from that. I initially thought it would be more than just that (considering .org) but after so many German posts, I just blocked the instance.

Nothing wrong with the posts / communities itself, but I don't speak or read German so it's just noise to me

  • thanks, there's a reason I left Reddit!

  • Thank you too!

  • There's a reasonable explanation for that one, namely: the French.

  • We've investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing

    • Lemmy, I love reading the comments and seeing cool insights and learning new things every day
    • LinkedIn, just scrolling through game dev news and laughing at the insanity of corporate LinkedIn
    • Discord, I manage a few communities so I need to check in regularly to ensure no spam or troll got through the automated filters. Also to chat with the friends I made on the platform since first using it (2016)

I do have a Bluesky account but the microblogging stuff just isn't for me. I like nuance and being able to have all the facts laid out. A conversation, if you will.

My twitter and facebook accounts have been disabled / removed for a while

  • I'm fine with it on social media, but on websites, articles, research papers etc I see it as a lack of quality control. It's very easy to fix too, just hit ctrl+F and type space twice to find any.

  • Double spaces in text

  • Nice! Now let's get OP to edit the post and the balance is restored.

  • It's not pandering to children. It's pandering to "ad-friendly" platforms that otherwise overly or covertly suppress the content

  • Idk how to feel about Jerusalem Post links. I was going to comment about how the article is devoid of any details, and then I read the last line: they use GenAI to help write their articles.

  • I read in another thread it was a parody account, but I can't verify that and this article is using it as the source. So it's real after all?

  • Jesus christ that is the most Trump way to say it as well. I was ready to crosspost this until I saw it was already where it belongs :)

  • As a moderator and admin for countless Discord communities, yeah, I've seen some vile shit.

Pretending that it doesn't have an impact doesn't help in the long run. Secondary Trauma is a thing. Create a workflow to distance yourself from the content, plan breaks, and please talk to someone (qualified) about it.
