  • I didn’t know this was a thing when I was younger, but not young enough to not be classified as a moron.

    Drank about 7-8 litres of water in 3 hours without going to the bathroom as a contest against a work colleague. Suffice to say I started feeling a little off on the way home, even after going to the bathroom. Years later I finally learned you can drown yourself from drinking too much and the symptoms were eerily close to what I experienced that night.

    I’m extremely tech savvy, a software engineer and nerd of decades, so I got sick of seeing all the Linux stuff and decided to wipe windows last week.

    Installed fedora, set up networking and then the Nvidia Proprietary drivers and did whatever it needed to do with secure boot.

    Powered off and on and boom no network connectivity at all and not sure what happened.

    Suffice to say it piqued my inner nerd and I’ll put hours into setting this up again as it’s fun, I’ve gone Arch btw, but let’s not pretend that the average user is going to have an easier experience than they would on windows or Mac.

    That’s horrible and I certainly don’t subscribe to this mentality. I will discuss things with people with an open mind and a willingness to change positions if presented with new information.

    We are not arguing out of some tribal belief, we have our morals and we will constantly test them to try and be better humans for our fellow humans.

  • So I actually did it and wiped my Windows PC, nothing on there I needed to keep.

    Set up Fedora and added the Nvidia Drivers.

    Shut down for a few days and in my next boot I downloaded CoolerControl. Then my networking died and I’m at a loss as to what happened.

    And people said it was just the same as using windows, yet me a massive nerd, software developer was stuck without ever having attempted to play games.
