  • Im a software developer and im not sure of another forum site to use and when I was learning my trade Stackoverflow was a hostile place full of arrogant people.

This will probably be downvoted cause LLMs bad, but our small company of 7 including owners have embraced LLMs. So I use CoPilot in Vidual Studio Professional and ChatGPT.

Now it should be understood that if you ask questions about software development it is going to: 100% correct, mostly correct but you need to refine it, or it’s just plain wrong.

I don’t know how useful it will be in learning and I guess it depends on how good you are right now, but as an experienced dev I have found it invaluable.

My boss who is the lead engineer and the smartest person I’ve ever met believes using LLMs has done the work of one employee for us, in terms of time saving and having less experienced devs like me use CoPilot means I am taking less of him time every day for problems I can’t quite solve. We do have some tools that utilize LLMs, for instance I can create a C# Model and our tool will go and create the schemas and a graphql layer and some basic views as we use a lot of boilerplate which is boring to keep writing out and a waste of time. We should be solving new problems not already solved ones.

Finally if you ever need any help or just want to ask a dev some questions about code or the industry in general, then reach out.

Edit: It is interesting to see this being downvoted and upvoted about evenly. Wish people would voice why they downvote. Like what are they downvoting exactly.

  • 😂

  • Long delay in replying here, but we did have limits in the number of gift cards combined value you could buy, not that they couldn’t keep buying them in different stores.

I think this was to curb people using stolen cards to buy them rather than to prevent people sending gift cards to scammers.

  • That’s great to hear! I see a lot of positivity for the Bambu printers.

  • Thanks for this.

I have been out of the game for a bit too. Saving for a Bambu Labs printer as I spend more time levelling my Ender than printing 😂

  • Thanks for adding the extra detail.

I have since noticed OP has only been printing two weeks so perhaps they don’t want to go down this route just yet, but it is another fun project and they will need to print some things to hold the web cam etc so could be something to focus on.

  • If you use OctoPrint you can get plugins that use a camera to watch for failed prints like stinging etc and it will stop the print if it fails.

I forget the name of the plugins right now. I went to say “Dr” something.

  • Not that I disagree with most of your comment, but insurance claim wouldn’t be worth it for a weed whacker as the excess would be prohibitive.

  • What’s the worlds oldest democracy?

  • Huh… I’m never off YouTube but never heard of or seen ads for Pie. I wonder when they will start showing up.

I still see a lot of Better Help ads and that sucks. I’ve gotten to the point where if it’s a YouTube Ad or sponsor, I ain’t buying it ever.

  • No problem at all. I really appreciate you apologising, a lot of people wouldn’t do that and just carry on with their day. I’m happy you took the time.

We all do things we wouldn’t otherwise, and we should all do better by owning up.

  • Oh I can absolutely see that. I guess my issue is that the whole review ecosystem is flawed I guess.

As you (or someone else) said it’s a no win for TrustPilot. Either they stop review bombs or they allow them and people will be mad either way.

  • I don’t think they would know about the issue until the news broke. The average user would assume it is doing what it said, and the content creators were non the wiser either.

  • Erm… not at all. Feel free to peruse my comment history if you want.

I didn’t mean anything by it and I was merely thinking out loud. I added the smiley to show I was friendly and meant no offence.

I realise now that the smiley could be confused for smugness, but honestly was just a thought I typed out.

You have a great weekend and I will try and be better.

  • Wouldn’t you expect a large influx of negative reviews when news breaks of this story?

As I said I don’t trust Trust Pilot, but this really doesn’t help their cause.

  • like you’re 10

Then uses embedded and referral. Not sure I know many ten year olds that would get those meanings. 😊

  • I don’t trust reviews at all at this point, from any service like those mentioned.

I will say that it’s diabolical that trust pilot closed the reviews. Meaning people can’t express there disappointment with the app, and that people might still trust it.

  • What? We have credit scores in the UK. Used for getting mobile phone contracts, housing, bank accounts, credit cards, loans, etc.
