  • Yes, I know that’s all you’ve got as far as lemmyml promoting transphobia goes.

  • Accusations of genocide denial isn’t the cheat code you think it is, or do you not deny the genocide of white South Africans? And what say you to this one? Previously.

And if accusations of promoting transphobia held any water, blahaj & hexbear would have already defederated from us.

  • blahaj isn’t particularly hostile toward anarchism or democratic socialism, I don’t think, but it’s largely a liberal instance. It’s defederated from hexbear & lemmygrad, so a lot of socialist content is blocked.

dbzer0 is explicitly anarchist. It blocks lemmygrad but not hexbear.

slrpnk is anarchist-friendly and environmentalist. It blocks both hexbear & lemmygrad.

lemmyml is predominantly socialist. It’s federated with everyone except for porn and fascist instances[^1]. The only instances that block it that I can only think of are infosecpub, lemmycafe, and programmingdev.

Quite a few instances are defederated from lemmygrad and/or hexbear. Hexbear is basically only blocks lemmyworld, and lemmygrad only blocks porn and fascist instances.

[^1]: For instance, hilariouschaos, the successor to explodingheads.

  • Were they hard-line demsocs, or were they really just “progressive” liberals?

  • There’s no way to follow Lemmy users on Lemmy, though ironically, you can follow Lemmy users on Mastodon.

You can also follow a user’s RSS feed. The URL format is: httpsHOSTNAME/feeds/u/USERNAME.xml?sort=New

  • Thank you for correcting a lazy, ignorant hot-take.

  • Almost the opposite happened. How did this even get upvoted?

Of course the genocide is bipartisan so the ceasefire was never going to last.

  • The corporate algorithms are not on the side of the Palestinians.

  • Yes, it’s fine. The issue isn’t with that post. It’s with this one, specifically with the external link preview, which isn’t Lemmy’s most reliable feature. It may not be an issue that OP can mitigate, and they may not need to, unless they intend to post links to their blog posts often.

  • I don’t think this is a crossposting issue; I think it’s an external link preview issue.

  • Reddit-ass geopolitical experts.

  • That depends on the evidence, I suppose, and I’m not an admin for kbinmelroyorg, so I can’t ban them from your site, only mine.

But the what I would normally suggest is to report the post(s) or comment(s) for suspected vote manipulation, and let the mods & admins address them.

  • Admins can see the votes and identify bad actors, and they can set up automation tools. On lemmyml, we consider them spam accounts and ban them.

  • But it’s trivial to use an external tool to see who voted on what regardless of whose account it is.

It’s also trivial for us to defederate from such tools, which our instance and others have done in the case of lemvotes.
