  • What's the difference between copying a function from stack overflow and copying a function from a llm that has copied it from SO?

LLM are sort of a search engine with advanced language substitution features nothing more nothing less.

  • That seems aimed to create a very closed echo chamber.

  • I read that the progress pride flag is copyrighted and some people (or a single person) may be profiting from it.

Several sources seemed coherent with this. That's why I try to keep away from it. And also it seems be mostly used in USA anyway, I haven't seen it much around Europe.

  • Be careful with this.

Turned pasta is really dangerous and hard to notice as it doesn't have an awful smell or look like other foods when bacteria settles.

  • If you need to use a new language that you are not yet used to, it can get you through the basics quite efficiently.

I find it quite proficient at translating complex mathematical functions into code. Specially since it accept the latex pretty print as input and usually read it correctly.

As an advanced rubber duck that spits wrong answers so your brain can achieve the right answer quickly. A lot of the times I find myself blocked on something, ask the AI to solve and it gives me a ridiculous response that would never work, but seeing how that won't work it makes easier for me how to make something that will work.

  • Drug use rooms?

Why not give all people living in a country homes to live in and be done with it?

  • What would be the advantage over current digital signatures?

The idea of NFT was not as much a proof of authenticity, but more like a way to sell and but those signatures.

In the context of AI I don't see an advantage to having a easy way to sell your private key sort of speaking.

  • Yep, I think the same.

I know that at a technical level would be hard to have common communities among instances. But it should be a goal, as it would add resiliance to the project.

  • I am curious of eating well cooked insects. And if they are cheaper it seems like a good meat alternative.

  • Isn't there already a mobile app?

Developers can focus on whatever they seem appropriate.

But I think content discover and community (lack of) are the biggest issues of peertube right now.

I hop once in a while to the main peertube site and I can never find anything remotely interesting to watch. There may be some good content, but it's impossible to find.

  • I use dlss in conjunction with dsl and it's the best way to avoid serrated edges. Much better than any antialias.

  • No noises sound like heaven.

  • We read left to right.

Hour left makes sense as hour is very important to know, many times for important than the minutes.

With dates year is usually not that important to know, and day/month became much more important to know in a daily basis. So they get a preference.

For instance, a doctor gives you an appointment on 2025-07-25. The first thing you read is 2025, which os not very important as the day and month, as you could already assume the day. A date on 25-07-2025 gives you important information sooner.

  • Mods be thinking that if they dig SO's grave deep enough it will emerge on the other side of the world.

  • Idk, have been statistically proven that everyone who come into touch with that material end up dying.

  • I suppose it's simple enough for a python script. I don't know about video formats but I don't think it would be really hard.

  • What you see is due to file corruption. The bits are not readable.

What you need can be done. You need a script that takes the video and purposely encrypt part of the data. Here you need to know the file format so you know what tou can encrypt.

The it's just a matter to run the script to encrypt and decrypt your video as needed.

Depending of the amount of security you require take into consideration that knowing that part of the video was purposely encrypted it's easy. Decryption of that part would depend on the strength of your algorithm and your key.

You should also take into account that depending on how the video is compressed (most videos are compressed, raw video takes too much space) you may not be able to cut with much precision the point in witch you want the video to stop being legible, depending of the type of compression it may have a few seconds of video each type which share the same data.
