  • Sea rising by 2100 is proyected on 0.6 meters.

    And sea rising predictions made in the 90s haven't been the more accurate.

    The harmful consequences of climate change have more to do with desertification, hotter summers, more energetic storms. And of course the fear of breaking some oceanic current and send Europe into an ice age.

    In general is hard to say what will be that thing that will make people say "ok, we really fucked up". As it's incredibly hard to predict the consequences of such a fast climate variation. Sea level rise was the jam in the 90s early 00s but as predictions fall short on that front and even the worse numbers doesn't look like mass migration number for a few centuries at least, worries are more focused on other things that could happen.

  • On NASA defence is not the first time that due problems with vehicles an astronaut have to stay up there for much much much longer than their planed stance.

    At the end I think the astronaut said that 50 would be enough. So the NASA estimate wasn't really that far off. As it's totally normal for a woman to use half or double the tampons than other woman during period.

    But it is a funny story indeed.

  • I needed a stable job so. And it was the easiest way to get it.

    After I chose to follow my passion and started working on that, which is my current job. Just to find out that not because you work in your passion your job is going to be fun.

    Then I realized than a job is a job. And most jobs are shitty. So I focused on working as little hours as possible and just enjoy my hobbies.

  • Just a few hours ago I was almost run over by a person who was smoking while driving, thus distracted.

    Just because they couldn't wait 5 minutes to smoke another cancer stick they almost kill a person and spend the rest of their good years in jail.

    But the word, inflation, only means that the same amount of money "tokens" can buy less amount of "good and services" in relation of two different moments in time.

    How that can be caused is where complication and expectations (and a LOT of political propaganda) begins.

  • I do not think german nazis were too motivated against africans, specially african-americans. They were ultra racist against Jewish and Slavic.

    The American nazis were the ones obsessed with skin color against black people.

    At least that's the impression I get when reading about those times.
