  • It’s a fresh wound, and those hurt until they heal. You need to give yourself time. This will sound sexist, but if you were a guy, I’d say you need a good bartender. Not saying the same wouldn’t work for a woman, but being a single woman in a bar kind of opens you up to the kind of attention it sounds like you don’t need, or want, any more of. Still, in lieu of a good friend, just having someone who can hear you vent your pain can be healthy (hence my recommendation for a good bartender - when I was being a detached listener was considered part of the job).

    When you’re not venting/working through the pain, try to work on you. Work towards liking/loving yourself.

  • I think the underlying understanding is that Tony wrote the AI he’s asking to write the code. So, in effect, the AI he built is a form of scripting. Rather than spending his time churning out code, the AI will churn out code that’s up to his standard because he wrote the AI.

  • My dad and I each have Synology NAS. We do a hyper sync backup from one to the other. I back up to his and vice versa. I also use syncthing to backup my plex media so he can mount it locally on his plex server.

  • I’m going to be political for a second. To me, the copypasta is analogous to the conservative view of the world/hit issue du jour. The response, outlining how shit is way more complicated than an elementary school student’s understanding of things would represent the progressive view.

  • Glad to see this. For sure, there are plenty of sports I find boring to watch, but I can appreciate the skill involved. That, and the nuance and context you mention can really add to the enjoyment of a sport. Plus, everyone’s different and have different likes.

  • Most races are actually not as fun in person since you only see 1 part of the track. The rest is watched on Jumbotrons around the track. I enjoy watching some racing, but I’m usually doing something else while it’s on. The technical aspect of F1 continues to amaze me.
