  • Police have not charged or publicly identified the safety volunteer who shot at Gamboa and fatally struck Ah Loo. But authorities have said they’re investigating whether that man was justified in firing his handgun.

    Attorneys for Laura Ah Loo called out the safety volunteer by name Wednesday and said they will pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against him in coming weeks. They also said charges should be filed against the volunteer and called for more transparency from authorities.

    The Associated Press is not naming the volunteer because he has not been publicly identified by authorities.

    I'm guessing the shooter is a cop or ex-LEO or something like that. Hopefully the civil case can get some justice, because this justice system definitely protects its own unfortunately.

  • Get a bike that you can bring in your car. Park in a neighborhood or other area with free parking, get on the bike and just go exploring. It is a great way to learn about cool and often free stuff going on. If you can use transit and bring a bike, that's even better.

    I've watched expensive music shows from a nearby parking garage using this technique. Outdoor music venues often can't stop the music from escaping into the nearby blocks.

    Find a hobby that is easy to do in a park or other public space.

    All the best free stuff is usually on the margins, so it takes some recon to figure out what is worth your time. But that's part of the adventure of exploring a city.

What he doesn’t know is that rabbits are brought up in dense thickets so he is accustomed to it and shouts “I was bred in a briar patch”. Being thrown in the briar patch ultimately allows him to escape from bre’r fox who is shocked and can’t really believe what had just happened.”

We have heard for years about the problem of manufacturing businesses shipping jobs overseas to China, with its low worker wages and low environmental standards. China typically forces businesses wanting to locate factories in its country to transfer their technology and intellectual property to Chinese firms, which can then use that to undercut competitors in global markets, with state support.

    This paragraph is dripping with liberal hypocrisy on so many levels.
