  • My favorite is seeking feedback on reviews on stuff we own and people not responding and being like “I’m sorry I had Claude create 500+ PRs I can’t possibly respond to everything”

You don’t think there’s a problem with that!?!?

  • Just watch to the end of the shibuya arc and pretend that it never finished.

It’s peak anime up until after that. Then the author introduces a crazy ass game with crazy ass rules. Gets tired of it a 3rd of the way through, speed runs to an ending and just calls it quits.

  • I dunno reddits can still get real shit.

  • Yeah pretty much. Tokens are how models parse sentences.

It’s a wonky thing to charge by because each model tokenizes sentences differently. A sentence that would be 10 tokens in Claude can be 15 in OpenAI.

It’s why it’s crazy to try and charge by it and track employee usage by it.

  • I guarantee you my parents said all of this in all seriousness. It took decades of therapy to undo the damage of my childhood and I still have issues to work through.

I’m sure there are some that joke around and that’s fine. I’m not trying to claim your mother was abusive when she said it. But I wouldn’t use that as an excuse to minimize a lot of others pain.

  • How did you interview my mother to make this comic?

  • I’m tired man

  • Data centers have been around forever. Supercomputers and other large racks of computer hardware have been housed in them for decades. They have done a lot of good for research.

Even if you didn’t have AWS and the like modern sites/tech products need a lot more hardware than your random desktop computer to work. And that needs to be housed somewhere.

The AI ones they’re trying to build now to try and stack tech feudal territory? Probably not. I don’t think the demand is gonna be there long term.

  • And Sam Altman’s

  • The size of the spades are also off on the cards.

  • Ours is trying to cut everything to the bone to avoid admitting AI is not the future.

It’d be funny if it weren’t so sad.

  • What’s this from??? Is there a miss Rachel mamdani crossover?

  • And anytime they try to rectify people balk at the price increase and drop.

It’s not the critical lynchpin of work that they were hoping they could charge stupid money for.

  • A lot of tools like Claude or ChatGPT have internal tools they call when they do math (or use a python script) rather than have the model actually compute anything.

The underlying tech itself can’t do it because you can’t do math by token probability.

  • Is that the dude that ruined c/comicstrips?

  • Also business customers are fleeing in droves because they’re forcing API only pricing for businesses and everyone is getting sticker shock at the costs.

  • Pretty much. And is getting its lunch eaten by the fact that people are using tools like Claude code and open code instead of vscode interfaces.

This is cursor cashing out on top before the fallout and Musk being stuck with the bag.

  • From what I’ve seen on Blind (yeah yeah I know…) it’s an absolute shitshow over there now.

Couldn’t happen to a better company.

  • I agree. He probably already has. He just doesn’t want to say it.

It also doesn’t excuse the asinine comment he made about waiting until the last possible moment to make a decision. That is a horrible trait and probably something you don’t want to say publicly.

    The 2 aren’t mutually exclusive.
