Have you used software/online services lately? It seems that half the stuff out there is broken in some way.. I don't think the problem is a saturated market at all but a lack of understanding of the profession by business leaders. I actually believe there's a software crisis happening and the tech debt is only going to get worse with over/misuse of AI. At this point, considering the chaos this might create, I don't even know if I want to be right.. There have been plenty of examples of this mismanagement causing havoc in the news the last few years and we're still moving in the wrong direction imo..
Make no mistake, the only reason we're seeing this in the media now is because big business is getting hit. Mostly a shot in the foot with tariffs but let's keep those boycotts up!
Most social media should be public domain or at least have standardised open APIs, it's the logical way to go for a free society with healthy governments and institutions. As it is right now it's like private companies owning the streets..
Keep on pushing, I've been transitioning to Signal and now I've got a handful of good friends on there. People are realising what's going on but be mindful that a lot of people have businesses and work that depend on it.. They are hostages. But if everyone changes gradually it will reach a point they won't be anymore. Keep on preaching brother!
Yeah and I love it but this is still very tech niche and looking for an instant messaging solution. I don't want to become a pariah socially isolated in regards to my friends and family..
I think you're right but my only issue is permanently loosing contact with old friends from different countries.. If there's a change of phone numbers then I might not be able to contact them ever again..
Sorry I'm not really adding to the question but we need alternatives for a lot of apps.. Fb, Instagram, WhatsApp,etc it's impossible for me to ditch them all without loosing contact with friends/family.. any other threads going on about this? Maybe have a general thread and subsequent migration movements, we really need to act on this social life monopoly we've became hostages to..
