  • It's not paranoid to complain about the unnecessity of javascript when all you want to do is read a public text post on a social media platform. I have javascript disabled on some browsers, and it's annoying to have to whitelist a site that really shouldn't need it.

  • If they were publicising those videos that sounds illegal to me. If I printed off a copyrighted book for my own personal use, that would be legal. If I started distributing my own reprints of a copyrighted book without permission, the copyright holder could go after me. The businesses can hold copyrighted material without distributing them and not be in breach of the law.

  • I really don't like the trend of things that should be articles, being videos instead. And I'm very unlikely to watch one of these videos. However, this is a personal preference and I don't necessarily think videos should be banned from this community. Instead upvotes/downvotes could decide that; if no one wants to see videos, no one should upvote them.

  • Firefox is a browser, not an adblocker. Why would they make their own adblocker when there are already independent adblockers that are very good? I would suggest Firefox just come pre-installed with uBlock Origin

  • Beef between creator of hyprland and creator of wlroots. Creator of hyprland is banned from contributing to wlroots so I guess it makes sense to not rely on software you're not allowed to modify (obviously he can fork it but he can't participate in the upstream project)
