  • yes, but i'm arguing that democracy being applied in other methods is not understood by the average American. they assume it means how i defined it which is why i think it's the only version most people are discussing that aren't politically minded.

  • it’s wonderful to see someone overcome adversity and not let anything prevent them from chasing their dreams, but… maybe this guy should’ve been discouraged.

  • we never had direct democracy anyway which is the only democracy that should be considered “democracy” when average people think of the term.

more than half of us don’t know what a constitutional republic is.

  • it's both. his history shows the kind of liberal he was and he was never particularly progressive. he even avoided the term and disliked it lol. he got worse once elected though.. nowadays he's pathetically reprehensible as opposed to out of touch and middle of the road.

  • gas is almost $4.00/gal here in Wisconsin, so.. cool.

  • lol fucking lord

if we bomb Iran even further, especially their oil fields.. this is upsetting. the fact the WHO is discussing possible nuclear weaponry usage means the experts are taking this seriously. could result in nothing, but neither Trump nor Iran are merely talking shit. action is consistently happening.

  • it doesn’t clash but i never said to apply this to artists whose work is more damaging or is used as such lol. i was responding to your comment is all.

  • again, it’s different if the person is visibly doing harm based on their work or because of it. yeah it’d make sense to cut support. but we’re not talking specifically about people like Rowling, the question is about “bad people” which is a spectrum. an artist you like is probably racist due to certain things uncovered? okay you can stop listening to them but there are 12 other artists you like who are racist and you don’t even know, and let’s say one of those 12 created something instrumental in your life that defined your own love of art. now what?

  • i honestly ask why bother? if the art itself contains nothing of the artist’s actions or personal support then let it speak for itself otherwise you have to screen every piece of art you consume even in passing. exhausting. shitty people are everywhere.

  • it sucks and i hate it, but evil people can make great art. the art itself is innocent (unless it portrays the artist themselves) and deserves its own reputation.

  • it's 100% unavoidable. Hollywood breeds psychopathy and Celebrity Status attracts the worst of us and corrupts those with shaky morals.

  • yes and so does everyone. you literally cannot avoid it, stop caring. you will drive yourself insane.

  • it's because every single person involved is a committed liar. people who play the literal game of politics do not have actual principles tied to their morality no matter how loudly they claim otherwise. time and time again politicians and their cabinet members will "take a stand" only to some time later completely abandon that stand if it clashes with their ultimate goal of power, money, and relevancy. right now is the perfect time for this subhuman scumbag to criticize Trump, because it makes him look like not-a-fascist even though he is. he will say whatever is necessary to remain one step ahead.

  • “It is not irrational for a legislature to encourage citizens to appreciate their sex and not become disdainful of their sex by refusing to fund experimental procedures that may have the opposite effect,” Richardson wrote on behalf of the court.

literally making shit up to justify their hatred of people like me. nothing about these procedures are experimental nor do they have significant numbers of regret. knee surgery has a higher percentage of people regretting it than gender affirming surgery. nobody is trying to tell people to appreciate their knees. also, i do appreciate my sex, personally. i am who i am because of the life i lived. i have developed my own personal and positive connection to my sex. what the hell does that have to do with my gender identity though? oh that's right they're the same thing or whatever bullshit he'll insist on. but this is just me--i have an appreciation--nobody should be forced to feel something they cannot.

i want to be left the fuck alone and live the life i want. my personal affirmation is feminine. i know my internal self as feminine. to deny me that is to say you know me more than me. who the fuck are you?

  • they will not live through the attempt.

  • c'mon everyone he was just handing a check to someone. that's the proper wording to describe this event, absolutely.

  • yes but this was very recent within this administration. idk why they'd reverse.

  • they already goddamn said they're not touching it, stop.
