  • Ope, that hole is a rough one. I still crave more similar style shows with that good mix of light and dark and urban fantasy that doesn't need to take itself too seriously.

Wildly different show, but The Magicians scratches a somewhat similar itch, especially after season 2. It's definitely darker, but is also about young people struggling with the consequences of living in a world with magic that most people don't know about while also having fun with it from time to time

  • I should rewatch psych. It was a really fun show. Colombo but he's psychologically incapable of maturity

  • The problem with angel is that there's always something wrong with it.

Buffy regularly has seasons that are clearly what it should be and it's easy to remember the baseline of what it is. Season 1 is monster of the week, high schoolers finding their footing. Season 2 has Angel, 3 has Faith. You don't ever feel like "wait why isn't soandso here".

Angel is the opposite. Every watch I've wondered why some characters take so long to arrive or leave so soon when they're so iconic. The overarching story also kinda meanders and I think part of the problem is that Angel is just a worse center for a show than Buffy was (or Cordelia was, I'm still mad she was written out). Also season 4 (or whatever the season with Connor being edgy) was actively bad. Then unfortunately the show was canceled after the best season where it felt like it finally understood itself.

Still absolutely worth a watch, it did great things for a few of the characters of Buffy who had to leave Sunnydale, as well as having more post face turn Cordelia and some of the best Faith scenes.

  • My wife has her account with our credit union and our joint account (my personal is with a different credit union). If there were any small businesses each she ran would be with them too.

  • Well we need to ban that

  • True but its nominal and financial justification would be eliminated

  • I hope this results in their evidence being inadmissible to judges/juries.

If you're ever on a jury remember this

  • I'd love to see someone try to explain how As You Like It is Hamlet

  • Here's my go at it

Pride: Names everything after himself and constantly talks himself up

Greed: constantly stealing from everyone he can, everything is gold

Gluttony: he definitely overeats and is unable to be satiated in any way

Envy: any time anyone does anything better than him he tries to tear them down and get what he wants

Sloth: thinks exercise is bad for his health and has never done real work in his life

Wrath: attacks against political enemies and foreign nations entirely based on his emotional state

    Lust: adultery and child rape

  • All things end. It's the price of existing. But new good things come. There's danger, but there's also plenty good.

Go out, try to make some friends and when you fail try again until you succeed.

There's good in this world and it's worth fighting for.

  • Sales environments are such hotbeds of abuse. They want the most competitive assertive bullies they can get. Then they wonder why everyone hates salespeople.

  • Wow they ain't kidding when they call management a bunch of clowns

  • Idk, they seem to be somewhat under his spell. At the very least they'll be like vultures at his legacy. He was probably a nightmare for them, but plenty of children of narcissists idolize the narcissistic parent

  • Well those actually belong on pizza

  • Fruit is also a culinary term meaning sweet or sour fruit

  • Because one is umami heavy and mildly sweet and acidic and the other is heavily sweet and acidic with little if any umami

  • What, you don't like it when you order a berry sauce and get guacamole with tomatoes? What do you put in your yogurt then?
