  • Several of the administrators of a school system do bear job titles containing the word "officer" such as the finance officer, head of the finance department over purchasing, bookkeeping and payroll.

  • Habaneros as mentioned have a smoky savory flavor under the napalm.

  • Pilot here: It's interesting that you specify "airplanes" because that is specifically who those minimum altitude requirements apply to. The law (FAR 91.119) makes specific exceptions for helicopters.

  • I remember when I thought this bullshit was merely reckless.

  • I forgot about Pepsi Blue.

  • I have a taste for habaneros. A lot of people can't stand the spice but I'm here for it.

  • I recently got into Old Fashioned cocktails, which means I've added a dasher of Angostura bitters to my bar cabinet.

Neat it's kind of miserable. It's like, go to your mom's house, get the five oldest jars out of her spice cabinet, boil the contents in vodka for an hour.

Diluted with some sugar water and it tastes like understanding your grandparents. It has a clove-forward spice flavor that seemed to follow my ancestors everywhere, I came to associate it with old people who had no idea how to relate to me. But served with some whiskey and a twist of orange, I get it.

  • I remember on Reddit once some guy was talking about how he installed Ubuntu and it only had a terminal no GUI and it didn't have APT only Snap. Took me a minute but I figured out he had installed Ubuntu Core or whatever they call their embedded system.

And given Canonical's corporate garbage fire website I can see how. I kinda hate the brand names they all independently come up with. Fedora isn't much better, the way you learn Fedora Silverblue is the immutable version that comes with the Gnome desktop is you ask on Reddit, because their website is 94% marketing drivel.

  • Not sure why he chose that particular name, he's whiter than Arbor Day.

  • Is Jenny Nicholson's channel dead? She just...posts like one 4 hour video a year.

  • Afrotechmods. Straightforward electronics tutorials that demonstrate both the right and wrong ways to build circuits. Abundant information, occasional explosions.

  • Sol B

  • The people who wrote that recipe are currently in office.

  • That's what you get for believing in feelings.

    1. The fediverse works a little like email. You know how you can have an account with Google's Gmail service and still send messages to your uncle's Compuserve account, your work uses Microsoft's Outlook service, and lots of businesses have their own domains? But they all talk the same protocol so these independent services can all interact? The fediverse does the same thing. The protocol is called ActivityPub, and it means that all fediverse systems can communicate to a point. You'll sometimes see Mastodon users interacting with Lemmy. Lemmy is a Reddit clone UI wise. We call subreddits "communities". The different instances are like those different email services, it's why you, with an account on thelemmy.club, created a post on asklemmy@lemmy.world where I, a user on sh.itjust.works, saw it.
    2. The environment here is yin to Reddit's yang. On Reddit, Hitler did nothing wrong, on Lemmy, Mao did nothing wrong.
    3. Same as Reddit, you can say whatever the mods agree with.
    4. Don't call communities "subreddits." Don't mention Nicole.
  • i love that that's their full government name, wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man.

  • My favorite thing about TempleOS is it's written in Holy C.

  • I built one for my parents last summer.

I do have one myself, inherited from my grandmother, full of the dishes that are too precious to break out for Pope God The First because he's not holy enough for early 20th century China my father "remembers from when he was a kid." It's not as large as the one I built for my folks though.

I do...kind of hate them as a trophy case of consumerism?
