  • Most of the world can't afford to buy one specific android and hope not to brick it. Most people can't afford a google pixel and if they can, aren't going to risk it.

    And what happens when google cuts off third party tools like MicroG. I need WhatsApp for almost everything from talking to family and friends to Work. Most of the world does, and the same is true for Facebook.

  • I am not from the US but can't you interpret the first amendment in a way that would work here?

    Code is just information and you could argue that a platform is infringing on private free speech.

  • I can't really read Arabic(long story). I only read and write in English, which does make 99.9 of all my culture's literature inaccessible sadly. There some translations though and I would have liked if there were more Arabic audiobooks on the ausiobook scene.

  • I mostly jump between humanites; geography, philosophy, psychology, sociology and politics and so on. Right now I have a list of loss concepts I want to research

    Here are some:

    • Alternatives education forms
    • STEAM vs STEM
    • Journalling techniques
    • Color theory in different cultures
    • How to fact check
    • Why do so many animals have tails
    • Diabetes and obesity in the middle east
    • Translation science; the role it plays and its effectiveness.

    • Dysprixa, DID and OCD

    Ego I suppose, I like the aesthetics of academia and would like to feel a sense of accomplishment. Maybe down the line I become enthralled with a field, but for now its just a hobby.

    I find that I prefer humanities more over STEM and I live in Egypt(thought I am not sure how that relates)

  • discussing online, I'm a bit of a Marxism nerd

    I am open to learning about Marxism. I copied a couple of books on my countries Politics from my sister and among them are some communist books. Haven't gotten around to reading them though

    Coming to you as a believer in the inherit problems of Capitalism, but who struggle to imagine a world without it(that isn't set in the past),do you have anything that's prescriptive instead of just descriptive? I have seen mountain's of critics online(mostly YouTube) but no real way forward. I aslo want to know if a communist society is achievable compared to a socialist democracy.

  • I was referring to the "word" atheist. I meant to say that in my culture, people dont really talk about atheist as a thing. I have never met anyone else who left, so I can't imagine raising kids without religion.

    But I am atheist now? What I meant to say was that I grew up religious and its hard for me to imagine raising a child without religion, seeing as how that's the one template I ever head.

    I don't know what world view you thought i had.
