I've got it on vinyl and this is definitely the way to hear it. Not because of quality but because it has to be heard in one go, not as separate songs.
I've heard it many times throughout the years and I still find new meanings to the songs depending on where I am in my own life.
In the 80s when there was a famine in Africa and children were shown with bloated intestines on TV, there were people claiming that they were just fat.
When I look at obese American children, they're obviously not starving, but I think the issue is the same: Poverty.
I cut out a lot of the social stuff, like going to a cafe or watching a movie with friends just for passing time. With a family I don't have time for that as much.
However a small group of us still get together when one arranges something more interesting, like hikes etc. to sort of give it a purpose other than just hanging out.
One of them is really good at it. Every time we show up at his place he always has some project going where he needs an extra hand to build something. More often than not we end up fixing his shit all day long without ever getting to the bowling alley or whatever the plan was. We enjoy doing these things together that actually matter more than just socializing for the fuck of it.
Try it maybe. You'll soon learn who you can rely on and work with.
We stopped inviting one guy. He constantly moaned about being put to work (and wasn't very good at it either). He was more interested in going out and using the group to cover for his own shenanigans.
The remaining group knows what's up. If shit ever hits the fan, these are the guys I'd invite into my doomsday fortress.
Yeah, those don't work well with Outlook. I get an e-mail from Microsoft telling me to login to the web version only to see that someone put a 👍 on my e-mail. It completely defies the purpose.
Microsoft really knows how to keep office workers occupied doing nothing at all.
Norway raised their wealth tax recently, despite the cries from rich people "being forced" to leave.
Some did in fact leave because of it.
But the tax revenue from the ones that remained more than made up for the lack of contributions from the ones leaving.
One news outlet described it as "turning a trickle into a stream".
Fuck the petty cash trickles from the ones who don't want to be here. Let them leave. They can go not pay their tax elsewhere. See how that works out for Texas or wherever.
Probably missed calls. It'll keep showing a notification bubble in both activity and calls until you bother clicking the missed call as if that makes any difference or sense to anyone or anything but the notification counter.
What would happen if you were placed in a cubicle and money appeared when you pressed the 5 button combination?
I know I would attempt other combinations. Even if I was told the right combination from the beginning.
The money keeps coming every time, and the payment is clearly an acceptable cost, so there are obviously a lot more money available.
It's not that I'm greedy. I'm just not happy being fed only a trickle of the potential.
