  • In almost all cases your 120V15A outlet has other outlets on the circuit and so it cannot be rewired that cheap. In almost all cases it is really 120V 20A though, so you can set your level 1 charger to a slightly faster rate since odds are nothing else is running on that circuit (but good luck finding a charger that supports that faster level 1 rate).

  • The shorter your range the more important fast charge is. My car with a 200 mile range is almost(!) always fine on level 1 since I so rarely use make so many trips in a row that it would empty the battery. My wife's phev with only 30 miles of range is always at near 0% when she gets home and she (like most people) is likley to be making another trip soon so level 2 is a must. (of course it could switch to gas it isn't charged, but gas is several times more expensive so we try to use gas for long trips only)

  • A pickup is supposed to be used such that the weight is properly loaded. If you don't have the back full of firewood or something else anyway you are doing it wrong.

    Then again if you don't have a full 8 foot bed you are doing it wrong, and those are almost impossible to buy.

  • Taking profits mean you have something else to do with the money. It could be you think something else is a better investment. It could be you want to bu a yacht. There is no telling.

    Most financial reporting uses terms like "taking profits" as a way to explain things without digging into the details of what investors are really doing. (which to be fair in most cases an investor is harming themselves by telling the truth)

  • A human can, but as soon as that is discovered that human is rejected. They have to slowly develop a whole new persona, likely taking years - before they are trusted again.

    At least for now when Kids regularly grow up enough to join the internet and so we have to have ways to let new people in. If tokens ever trade to a real verified human it may not be possible to get another. (though I doubt this - governments in some places will issue tokens to bots and real humans and so there is no way to tell without cutting off someone real.)

  • It isn't regularly, it is what you do on the margins. that one trip a year. Those really cold days in winter (ICEs have a built in heater). 200 miles is more than enough most days, but once a month it will be really close.

  • There is a 0.001% chance this isn't a scam. Make sure he doesn't give money and has backup plans of what he would do in LA if this is a scam. If you are going to LA anyway then meeting someone can make it more enjoyable. If it doesn't work out (either a scam or real but the don't click) he can enjoy his backup plan. I want to visit the USS Iowa there someday as one example of something to fill a day. I assure you there is more and I've not even been there

  • If you say anything and the other doesn't want to go farther they are likely to handle this by not having anything more to do with you. That is as soon as you say anything there are two responses: they agree and you move forward, or you never see them again!

    Unfortunately every advice I (or anyone else that I've seen) can get you is right for some situations/people and wrong for others. Move too slow and they give up on you if interested, move too fast and even if they are interested they get scared off. Good luck figuring this out for your exact relationship. Even if you get it right for some relationship that doesn't mean the same thing will work for the next.

  • Only a few. Nearly every farmer is facing a problem of There just aren't enough for the hands to hire. Farming is generally very seasonal you work very hard for long hours during harvest, but that's only two or three weeks a year. Planting season again, you work very hard for a couple weeks, but the new it's done and you just wait for things to grow. It's not just waiting, You occasionally have to get out to weed and monitor the conditions, but there's many weeks where there's little to do and no need for a farmhand.

    Many farmers have a second job of some sort that they work between farming tasks.

    immigration restrictions also hurt because people who are poor and would take anything and be happy with work for those few weeks can't get in. In the poorest countries, you can easily have a nice living only working a few weeks a year in the US.

  • This is mostly a factor in how often the public toilets are cleaned. I've been in charge of public toilets before, and if I'm not on top of them things get bad fast.

    I'm also in charge of my personal toilets. They get bad fast too if I don't keep up, and we are not putting bad things down intentionally. However accidents happen more often than you would expect.

  • Wool is really bad about shrinking when cleaned wrong. Wool is also expensive and itches so it would be no surprise if you have never had anything with it. Cotton shrinks too, but not near as much

  • I disagree. I put a lot of work into a response because I expect others to have similar problems and they need an up to date answer. Then someone else deletes the main post and makes my response also disappear. This is very disrespectful of my time and effort in answering a question.

  • It is almost impossible to state this because it's proving a negative. A company says they changed, sometimes they have, sometimes they only haven't been caught anymore - there is no real way to know.

    I know I've had to go through a bunch of trainings in my company of how not to do something that would get us fined, but I don't know if it actually has worked or if it's just a checklist item that keeps the fines down somehow
