  • Formatted size will always be smaller than raw size as you are storing a file system and there are lots of different ones with different space requirements.

  • Kilo and mega prefixes have been used for far far longer than computers have been around and they mean 1000 and 1000000. It's only in computing where these prefixes were corrupted because they were deemed "closed enough" and caused confusion because people expect the terminology they use everywhere else to also apply to their computer.

  • If you want people to pronounce your project name correctly you should spell it that way. Having a FAQ on pronunciation means you've messed up and lost already. Want it to be called "Engine X"? Call it "Engine X".

    My favourite is SAP not wanting people to call it Sap but to spell it out S.A.P. Well sorry, but it's a CVC word, literally the first kind of word everyone learns.

  • I'm not with indenting paragraphs. And functions should be PascalCase with braces on new lines. Long parameter lists are indented as below and parameters and other variables are camelCase.

  • Music. There's so much variety and limitless options. Having said that, I tend to stick to the genres I fell in to as a teenager, but have branched out a bit as I've aged.

  • I still maintain that Emby is better than Jellyfin. I try it again maybe once a year and every time I end up back on Emby. It just runs better, works pretty flawlessly and doesn't lose my libraries every so often. Music playback is better by far on Emby and that's my main usecase.

    Hardware decoding would be nice, but I don't have a system I could use this on for either and I've not had trouble without it.
