  • Yep I only have windows for pubg and vr...I really hope vr on linux gets some more advances cuz I do enjoy it

  • I'm having the best time computing on linux again. It had been about 10 years since I last had it since I kind of just forgot about it or thought it wouldn't fit my needs. I hardly boot to my windows drive now except to play pubg.

  • "Users throw windows in trash and install linux" - new headline

  • This is not very similar. As the other poster said, unregulated AI is a corpos dream, and it will destroy us even worse than billionaires already have. Give it 10 years, if you don't work manual labor you'll be jobless

  • Yep, I knew this from the very beginning. Sadly the hype consumed the stupid, as it always will. And we will suffer for it, even though we knew better. Sometimes I hate humanity.

  • This is why I tell people stop using LLMs. The owner class owns them (imagine that) and will tell it to tell you what they want so they make more money. Simple as that.

  • Id say Long Drive. It's fun to drive and listen to the radio, find weird stuff, and laugh at the hilarious glitches

  • Thats what I've been doing...I say yes do it! We need more humanity nowadays too, when everything's bots.

  • They use minor slurs against minorities and are obsessed with fox news....and now are fully brainwashed :(

  • This was always the goal. Serfdom in a different package.

  • The fact that people have any thought that this guy is smart or a good person makes me hate humanity.

  • True. But it seems like it's way too late to start learning any programming now. Plus it's saturated. I'll learn it on the side for fun but it'll probably never be a viable job for me

  • Yeahh exactly. AI has pretty much ruined computer based fun now. Which in some ways is good, we should all learn physical hobbies again and not be reliant on tech. I still enjoy my hobby desktop computers though, I just enjoy learning how it really works under the surface.

  • I still want to get into coding the OG manual way (because I enjoy pain and disappointment apparently) but now it seems like a waste of time since vibe coders and 13 year olds already are lightyears ahead of me. Also I have no reason to learn it, all apps are already built xD

  • I love tuxcart but I can never find anyone else playing? Is the player base just that small?

  • It's like moving from r*** to lemmy. It feels fresh exciting and so far untainted by corpos. Plus people here/then we're actually tech literate since computing didn't care about the lowest common denominator like today. I'm baffled how many of my friends actually know nothing of technology but they use it every day all day... Thats what we loved about it i think.

  • If only we knew how good we had it!

  • I know it. And I think that's fine. I can ignore the modern net for the most part and find communities like this!

  • People use chat gpt to tell them what to buy. We are doomed. Our brains are about to shrink to the size of a pea in 10 years. All is going to plan for the elite.
