The environmental impact can be discussed. Maybe training Kimi 2.7 is like sending a rocket to the moon. But using it locally can be optimized and then is as much as running your GPU. Arguably the impact is similar to gaming then.
(I know this is an unpopular opinion because it reads as defending oligarchs. Sorry!)

Many people would feel good about helping out. Keep that in mind. I try to think about it when offered help. Else I was always saying no, and it turns out it may also be a trauma response. My braing being used to doing things myself, not wanting to feel dependant, or -as it was said- bothering others (I am a people pleaser)

Are you British? Just kidding. But recipes do have a creative process. Chantilly cream was invented. Same as any other desserts or dishes. And parts of a recipe, like whipping cream, are reused throughout other recipes...

I won't argue on the remainder of your post because I rather just keep it as different world views. You have decided to defend copyright. We just disagree.

Look at kitchen recipes. They have no copyright. Chefs and restaurants still make money. That's what I meant to arbitrary, they are the pillars to a made up scenario, or paradigm. You are answering from within, unable to see the alternative because without copyright capitalism would collapse. That was my point when comparing to nation states. I know I am parroting crazy thoughts, but I believe they are useful for creative rebellion and imagining a world that might as well be possible and perhaps even better. Copyright and competitiveness are not real good drivers for innovation, they're just the rules of the game. Another game, rooted on cooperation may as well determine different rules for winning and the very definition of success could be another one in such a social system..

Copyright has always been a complete arbitrary joke, just like nations' imaginary limits on terrain. We can live without those one day, they are just fundamental to bigger powers and their concentration of wealth. We, as layman or even peasants, should not care much.

I use aurora os but would actually recommens bazzite.gg for you. Both are inmutable fedora distros (first one uses KDE, second one Gnome.) and are based on the great rpm-ostree as system package manager ,that gives you: full stability, security, plus the benefits of having fresh updates. Rollbacks are a breeze. Most applications you would install there are via either flathub.org or brew.sh ...

Supposedly, they are taking government funds for help (like refugees) and polluting the pureness of the culture.

In reality they are making locals even richer by taking shit jobs at low salary, and enriching the culture (like food!)

Linux Mint Debian Edition is just great for that case. If I were not so much into fedora's rpm-ostree I would be using that, or MX Linux.

Ever since the CEO of Telegram was basically lured to Paris, arrested, then read the riot act for Telegram’s non-cooperation with French authorities, the company has been responding to warrants and downplaying its “E2EE” features. Expect them to have a fully accessible backdoor for LE.

What does LE stands for?

Also, do you have any sources to your claims?

Just the other day, I wondered myself: what happened after that detention in Paris? I haven't read anything else. Is he in prison or free?? No idea! Is there an ongoing trial? What were the accusations?

PS. This thread can easily spin on another reiteration of the arguments around "separating the art from the artist". That text on AI may have a certain sympathy to some.. I haven't read it. After this post, I thought "maybe I should?". Thanks to your comment I got centered back in my perspective: "nah. the pope can say whatever he wants to. I won't be his supporter nor audience."
