  • The DOJ has had a moratorium on pursuing any Title 9 claims related to gender identity for several years now. The EEOC has not been investigating claims of discrimination related to gender identity in several districts also for several years now.

These are specific items that need to be addressed. I’d like there to be separately pushed, because “Trans Bill of Rights” already sounds like it’s going to be nuked from orbit.

I had more than one job offer explicitly revoked because of my gender identity, including a federal one (cited Trump’s EO.) I sought help and did not find it. Living in a red state gives you zero recourse.

  • Facebook also makes it very hard as an adult to monitor a teens social media use and protect them. I was working with a teen who was joining dating groups made for adults, and the tools wouldn’t let me see the messages being sent. Wouldn’t let me report the groups.

  • There’s never going to be a time in my life where I will be able to afford even a modest gaming computer :(

  • You never budget for a grocery store trip? You never walk into a store with $10 and think about how many cokes or whatever you can buy?

Just because someone’s not handing you an algebra worksheet, doesn’t mean you aren’t doing algebra.

  • I think many people really don’t like knowing that other people suffer. Much easier to pretend that suffering doesn’t exist by not interacting with it. But once you overcome that hurdle of realizing that suffering exists, then there’s so much joy to be found in being able to actually eliminate some of it.

  • K-12 STEM stuff is so fun! I’ve got to be a badge counselor a few times and that was a delight.

  • Do you have a stabby stick, or do you just wear gloves?

  • Is JustServe alright? The context I learned about it was Mr Beast teaming up with the LDS church, and I wasn’t sure if it was a Mormon thing or not.

One of my favorite things in college was checking out my fraternity chapters website for volunteer sign ups. It was fun to have a menu of opportunities every weekend. It would be nice to just go to an app or something instead of just trying to tune my Facebook algorithm.

Food pantries are great. One of the few good deeds in the world where the impact is something you can very directly see.

  • I’m just glad the media called it “racist.” Not “controversial” or any other sane washing crap.

  • This is disgusting.

  • the women obsessed with this kind of thing

Right wing women redirect their frustrations with being treated like breeding sows to an acceptable target. Gives them a feeling of power and control.

  • The Girl Scouts let trans girls in though?

  • I broke my foot and didn’t get medical care like 3 years ago, and now it lets me know.

  • They immediately used his death to try to argue that trans people are all domestic terrorists, and organized witch hunts to get people fired for making comments (often targeting professors that were on TPUSA’s hit list). There is a good chance that the Trump regime will cite the shooting as evidence that trans people should be viewed as terrorists.

I think it also really exemplifies the “reality show” - iffication of right wing American politics. The president is a reality TV star, Dr Oz is administering Medicare, Hegseth was a news personality; Erika Kirk is just an opportunistic vulture like the rest. The kind of person who spends their life trying to get on Big Brother or Survivor so that they can make a career out of partying and socializing.

  • Hydrogen bonding with just any molecule they bump into. Those promiscuous polar particles.

  • Wouldn’t the ideal be self hosted content made by the people hosting it? Obviously there’s no mechanical means to block people from uploading content that they don’t make, but those kinds of ethical questions and control of access can be handled by federation networks.

Decentralizing these things could lead to a better way for sex workers to work safely (SESTA/FOSTA closed up a lot of safer avenues for sex work in the US) There’s a lot of rules for trust that you can build into these systems, things like basic encryption with private and public keys.

Someone who didn’t want their content online could take it down easily. They could easily gate it - like, think about where most of the profit the actresses and actors videos go to now? If you are watching stuff for free on a website, it’s the website getting ad revenue and maybe the company. Do they get royalties? Workers should own the means of their reproduction.

  • That is just the classic Phyllis Schafly playbook - making a career out of telling women they shouldn’t have careers.

  • Gay for pay shit is often fucked up too. There you go. I think it’s actually harmful as shit that a lot of queer boys grow up with no access to actual sex ed and learn how to do things from porn.

What proportion is there of straight porn to gay porn?
