  • Hypothetical: Humanity is planning a year of shutting off the internet to quell the advance of the AI singularity. You can keep your computer but there will be no networking. What would you do to prep

  • Well the question stands. If only internet as generally understood goes off I simply join alternatives or extend my lan and hamsterize content to share it. If any network is subjected to forced closure then I can only do the storing part and keep steam stuffed. You never question hypothesis ?

  • I would start by questioning how that would prevent the rise of the singularity… either it exists on an air-gaped network and it’s unecessary or it’s all theatrics because a true singularity emergence would likely use the other less known networks to realise itself.

  • About that last sentence; the same crap is creeping in Europe at the very least. There was another press release about the eu commission iirc welcoming a similar decision in spirit. Just not implemented at OS level but web-side.

    Not sure or Asia and Africa are feeling about this but unfortunately USA is not alone. which in my opinion gives credits to the various theories that it’s being pushed by gafam.

  • Honestly solo it’s a banger. Here it brought some creamy texture that was missing from the plate. And quite good with the beef as a sauce yes :)

    Not so complementary with the grilled cauliflower though, they were actually tasting not great together.

  • These are young brocolis you steam and quickly sauté with butter. They are quite delicious.

    In addition even for more traditional looking broccolis you can cook the stem. Just detail it and cook it with the rest. Don’t waste them :)

    Anyway it was not saturated in fat but a rather lean piece of meat which needed some sauce on the side. The texture was incredible though.

  • In Europe we have the AI act which, as of August, will introduce some form of transparency obligations. Not perfect obviously but a start. Probably will not be followed by the rest of the world though so like GDPR it will be forcibly eroded by other’s interests through lobbying but at least we try.

  • Uh? It’s a bit less generic than that… some activities of governments are excluded from the scope but not all data processing from government agencies are.

    For example this particular personal data processing likely fits under the prevention of criminal offences and threats to public security and is highly unfortunate but let’s keep shit factual.

  • My healthcare governmental insurance… last time I had to request a password. Took 2 good weeks. Fucking crazy inefficient process for an application that in the end exposes close to zero PII. The juicy stuff is behind another account with 2FA and more.

  • I made peanut butter sauce with hoisen sauce in it :) And there was some sweet and sour classic nem sauce as well. I tried one more variation of vinegar / nuoc mam but it was still not hitting right.
