    Rimu is the developer of Piefed.

    If we're at the point it is important to clarify "person v software", the person developer can be associated with the developed software.

    And if this is, in fact, a call to compartmentalize and separate devs from software, and furthermore from how they operate their instances... Yes, that would be a nice change for Lemmy and Piefed alike for discourse on this matter.

  • I got interested and checked and it's just one community on piefed social. My comments are viewable on my instance and the instance of the user I reply to, but only that comment and only in that one community. If I view my user comments from any other instance, piefed or lemmy, those comments do not exist.

    So I can't rule out that userblock scenario, but it is interesting that my comments effectively become a public facing DM.

  • I am fairly certain I'm ghosted from certain communities on piefed.social, but I don't know how encompassing that is. So I don't know if anyone on that instance can actually see what I write ever, or not, or if it's just more targeted on a community/user blocklist level.

    I think this is just more of the ongoing controversy being spun up against db0.

    This weeks flavor appears to be more data driven, a 'just asking questions' phase. I guess in hope the whole 'falsifying evidence to make db0 users look like neo-nazis' thing blows over.

    Like it's clear there's an effort to rid db0 from the fediverse, and it's just the pretext hasn't been sorted out yet.

    Unless this data is purely internal instance user bannings, 'Per capita' has no effective meaning. As the pawb.social case shows: it's all one user with multiple communities who regularly bans waves of sockpuppet brigades. Even the people catching strays or otherwise goes to show it has nothing to do with 'the furries'.

    Likewise I wager the SJW bans are effectively one community banning essentially one user who periodically spams accounts.

    What is it about dbzer0 that makes them such prolific banners?

    That whole painfully public fued against db0 over their stance on zionism may have something to do with it. Like the fake neo-nazi shit being spread against db0 that was just going on this week. It's a wild question to have in light of all that, quite frankly.
