    And it's not just because christians seem to be leading the charge in supporting right wing piece of shit politicians. It's not just because they have looked the other way for decades while priests molest kids but treat drag queens reading books in a public library as the ultimate sin.

    It's from a lifetime of these people telling me that all the cartoons I enjoyed and music I listened to was going to send me to hell. It's from believing in the first place that anyone different from you deserves to literally burn for eternity and not seeing a problem with that. It's because of every christian that ever told me that only humans have souls and that other animals are just meat robots to use and abuse. It's because of my reborn christian hostel master that used to go on long lectures about how KISS stands for Kids In Satan's Service. And all of the other super racist, super christian piece of shit teachers in that school. It's because of every christian that I have eaten a meal with that insists on holding hands and saying grace without once asking or checking what my beliefs are, or even giving a shit.

    I have a lifelong suspicion and distrust of religious people and nothing that has been happening in the world socio-politically in the last decade has improved that suspicion, in fact it's just made it worse.

    So even if you claim to be a 'left wing christian" (like fucking for virginity) or try to tell me that most christians are decent people, all of the evidence says otherwise and tells me that christians are dogmatic and unempathetic and will support dogmatic and unempathetic leaders the first chance they get. And that makes us enemies.

    The same goes for all monotheistic religions but a single out christianity here based on my own life experience.

Anyone that grew up with these clowns calling everything from Ninja Turtles to Pokemon evil and trying to ban rap music and heavy metal should've been able to see from a mile away that they just swapped the word 'evil' for 'woke'. Anyone older than 25 that fell for this must've been a piece of shit to begin with.

    This is one of the biggest reasons that I think reason number 1 that Trump and co won is hatred. Full stop. You can't claim that it was some attempt to protect children from the 'woke agenda' when you instead supported people that have had a reputation and tendency to want to marry, fuck and send children to work in the mines for decades now.

    You can't claim it was for a better economy when Trump has a well known history of even bankrupting casinos and spent his entire previous presidency golfing. You can't claim it's 'anti-establishment' when all of the richest people in the world are amassing more power than ever before. You can't claim it's about freedom when we all watched Trump allow Erdogan's bodyguards to rough up American citizens on American soil the last time Trump was in charge. And you can't claim it's for 'free speech' when people get sent to prison for political beliefs.

    It's nothing but hatred. These dumb fucking inbred clowns hate so strongly that they were willing to not only sacrifice the rights of their own mothers and sisters and daughters but were also willing to let their children grow up in a world run by known kiddie fiddlers with article after article backing up the evidence that the biggest pedos around are southern republicans and preachers.

  • I definitely understand the aversion to algorithms because just look at what platforms like Facebook, Twitter or even Reddit these days do with them. In the wrong hands, it's deceptive and dodgy as fuck.

    But I wouldn't be opposed to an algorithm that you can tailor yourself. And I don't mean Bluesky style 'tailoring', I mean give us a list of interests and categories to toggle that then have more weight in the feed. So for example, if you like metal, you would then see more metal related stuff in your feed and not have it downed out by Taylor Swift and Kanye West because upvotes.

    And something I picked up from Facebook (even though it doesn't work for shit on Facebook because their algorithm is mentally handicapped) is being able to 'favourite' something. And by doing that, not just pinning it to the top of the list of communities but actually making it appear in your feed more whether the upvotes are a high amount or not.

  • Especially for gaming. My old Nokia N81 kicked this rectangular piece of glass's ass when it comes to gaming because I could actually comfortably play games that weren't turn based and didn't need to slap an overlay onto the screen.

  • Yeah there's no good reason for a limit. Having no character limit doesn't stop people from making short posts if they want. If they don't want long posts taking up half the page, then they should just hide the rest of the text behind a 'see more' prompt once it goes over 300 characters.

    On a platform like Bluesky I can kinda understand if they limited replies to posts to 300 characters, so that people don't get walls of text in their inboxes but the original top post should be unlimited IMO.
