  • Recognized? We are so far gone from 1776.

  • A fair point.

It is amazing the level of emotional retardation that happens to these men when they start with money and then succeed in making a stupid, can’t even spend it all amount in their 20s. Real life has never happened for them.

  • This is some Caligula level shit that has nothing to do with liberty or American values.

  • All true. Also true was the global political influence. Dust, now.

  • The billionaire global coup. The US used to be a rallying force in the west, if nothing else. Now that’s dead, on the off chance someone with resources may want to fight back.

  • Even a $1bill fine would mean little to that man.

  • A new roof on a basic straight shotgun house used to be $5-6k, in 2019. 2023: $15k. And it needs to be total paid on completion. This is why people don’t do repairs.

  • Licenses and bonds are public info at the state level. Like with most licensed professions, any issues are public too. Found this while looking up potential electricians. Most of the time, it appeared to be not enough higher level electricians per journeymen. One guy had a lapsed license.

  • You need to watch Deric Cahill’s “Fuck This House” series.

Up until about 2022 it was living the dream. Now, you’ll need the cash for a down payment on another house to repair anything of significance. That’s not hyperbole. Repair has gone double or triple in 5 years, depending. And most repair is pay it all right now. For something like a roof, it’s like paying cash for a new vehicle. And property taxes went off the rails, most locales eager to reassess and cash in on those high sales prices. Remember, a mortgage is your minimum monthly payment.

I suspect the next couple years is going to see a severe rise in derelict level undisclosed problems in newly purchased homes. Repair used to be affordable. It isn’t, now.

  • My partner is doing this. He’s telling me what bird each set of chirps belongs to and where they nest in the yard. And the next moment he’s face palming himself on the topic. Even as his dad sends him pics of the bird house he built and wired with a live feed. (Yes, there was a bird building a nest in that live feed.)

It’s good to see into your future, or so I tell him.

  • I think they missed the part where Trump isn’t about stopping illegal immigration, just immigration. Past and present. For brown people.

  • The religion thing has typically been more about community. Given that white culture is mostly bereft of community, that’s the a key lure of belonging to a church or a bigot fringe group.

  • The less patience and higher anxiety is already happening in higher numbers among new hires. It’s astonishing.

  • Lena Kahn announced similar on this and now we have Brendan Carr instead. Good job, voters!

  • In medicine, the entire mental health part of a chart remains hidden unless there’s a mental health reason to break past that block. And since every click in medical charting is recorded, you’re not doing that for fun and keeping your job. Nvm the fact that most of the people with access to the medical chart would respect the info anyway.

And yet, anyone else with a camera and a platform is free to spew.

  • Muzzle velocity, yes.

  • This was a great episode.

  • There’s so much happening I didn’t even know about this until today. How can any one of us hold a job, maintain credentials, engage with family, and keep up with all this trash behavior, fraud, and legal fuckery at the same time?
