While he called ICE’s Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota an “unmitigated disaster,” Madel also said he believes President Donald Trump deserves credit for many things, such as brokering a ceasefire in Gaza, getting NATO countries to increase their defense spending and proposing a 10% cap on credit card interest.
A new user might come along and post something that revives interest in it. What Lemmy needs are more users to increase activity.
New users are unlikely to be interested in immediately committing to creating and/or maintaining a community with regular posts and moderation over a long period of time, but might be willing to contribute to existing communities. Better to have dormant communities that can be revived than to have a lack of topics for new users to contribute to.
I'd gladly vote for a progressive if given the option to in the primaries, but should they not win, the solution to the problem is not letting the country get even worse by letting fascists into the White House during the general election.
I'm not a Democrat and would gladly vote for a democratic socialist candidate if I could, but pragmatism is necessary to keep fascists from running the country. So much suffering could have been prevented had people been useful idiots to the Republicans by elevating them with a false moral equivalence.
And anyone who didn't vote for Harris over Palestine has now not only doomed the Palestinians, but Ukrainians fighting for their sovereignty, hardworking immigrants, and transgender, low-income, and minority Americans as well.
Overly broad generalizations are not helpful. In any case, the Americans likely to leave are not the idiots who voted the fascists into power.
