The electoral college was designed to protect democracy in times when the people's vote was easily swayed due to misinformation. Gerrymandering compromised that. Now we have an orange figurehead dismantling our agencies. Why are people disagreeing?
Lol, this brought me back to when I worked at a retirement home.
We had one gentleman who was 100+.
I realized he was old enough to have known civil war veterans.
I asked him if he'd ever met a civil war vet. He thought I'd asked him if he'd fought in the civil war, lmao.
Eventually, he told me he only ever saw them in parades.
I felt a little nervous to ask who was in the parade.
He was very proud to say, "The good guys, obviously. It was New York."
I got to know him more over time and learned that he was super progressive and loved to use the internet. It's cool to know there's a few good apples every once in a while.
