  • Unpopular opinion: I think we should be able to have flavored vapes. We have flavored cigars, flavored weed products, flavored alcohol, flavored medicine…it is dumb to think that vapes and cigarettes should be excluded from flavor for safety. If you want to stop kids from vaping, then apply the laws that already exist and start running some stings on convenience stores.

Furthermore, I see flavored Chinese vapes in every corner store in my state and the adjacent one. It seems that restricting the domestic manufacture of them has done diddly squat to reduce their availability.

  • That’s basically the VPN solution but with a little more flexibility.

If you want to actually expose the service, you can use Tailscale to connect it to a VPS and then expose that port to the web with Nginx, but if you do that, be prepared on the security front because…you know…open internet be full of hazards.

  • I think she is poorly wording an idea that I’ve been talking about for a minute: the death of the cottage industry.

The avenues for a temporary gig are diminishing. You can’t drive uber or make store deliveries if a robot does it cheaper, you can’t sell weed if it’s legal everywhere, and you can’t even stand outside Home Depot and get picked up as a builder if the powers that be are arresting people and enforcing trespassing laws. We don’t live in the 1930’s anymore—you can’t make ends meet by pickling your backyard vegetables. Unless you’re a hot chick who is willing to sell her nudes on OF, then there aren’t really many options for the unemployed to survive.

The human connection is great and all, but the bigger thing she learned was that those drivers needed that opportunity to drive so they could meet their expenses. It still isn’t enough, but something is still better than nothing.

  • Oh good, more earth to pillage.

  • Ooh, I actually know this one!

HIPAA applies to personally identifiable information that links the patient to the medical data. It can be shared if the patient has been obfuscated enough to not be personally identifiable, but the interpretation of that can be pretty broad.

For instance, I can say something like in the Generic County area, there is a predominance of [Disease] among the [Race] community. This was found to be 10% higher in non-citizens of that race. Of patients surveyed, 40% were noncitizens. It was also noted that the Generic Neighborhood displayed a 15% higher rate than the average for this disease.

No single person is identified, but I can narrow down a target audience to a specific neighborhood and ethnicity if I’m an advertiser. This same information can then be used maliciously to infer that the Generic Neighborhood likely has a population of illegal immigrants living there.

When combined with the other data they collect on people, they can likely narrow it down to individual people and homes.

What HIPPA says I can’t say is “Juan Lopez is an illegal Mexican immigrant with gastroparesis.” It was a law designed before the current AI data bullshit, and it needs to be updated to be a lot stronger to provide the protection it is supposed to provide.

  • Hi Chris.

  • Do you think she won’t be vulnerable to the same strategy a second time?

  • Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, dismissed Trump’s comments in a statement, saying, “The Wall Street Journal should learn to take a joke, however, the President’s pardon power is absolute.”

    It’s just a joke, bro! Unless…

  • Idk, swelling the weight of a bag is a dick move and I think it should be punished harshly. /s

  • Why am I only reading about this on the day we’re supposed to be striking? I would have participated, but I’m reading this on strike day while already at work. Soooo frustrating!

  • Cat politics are weird. If they aren’t hurting each other, then I usually think it is best to let them sort things out on their own. Cat slaps are a normal part of cat culture.

If it is getting extreme, they have pheromone sprays and diffusers that can help. If you spray it on your lap, then they have to enter the chill zone to get their pets.

  • I live on the border, and when I moved here, I was surprised to see that the light was actually kind of sepia toned for real. The Northern Mexican dust really adds a visible tint sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t as extreme as this picture unless there is a dust storm, but it is noticeable.

  • I’m glad to see that it wasn’t as severe as originally reported.

  • I agree that it’s unfortunate he’s not running, but smear campaign? Unless I missed something, I thought there was no dispute that a massive crime was being committed on his watch. In my opinion, it’s pretty negligent to not even check if there are kids in the childcare facilities that are getting funding. One inspection at funding renewal time would have been doable.

  • My girlfriend has EDS. It is such a strange disease.

On the one hand, it gives you smooth stretchy skin that is resistant to wrinkles, long features that can be very beautiful, and enhanced flexibility that can be fun in the bedroom.

On the other hand, just laying down can cause her legs to fall out of socket, her back can make noises that sound like stepping on peanuts, and her fingers can get stuck in a Vulcan salute.

    Handicapped parking is dope though.

  • Some delicacies are only conferred on those with a trained palate—it should not conCERN the rabble what delights the wise. /s

  • It’s all good, friend. I, too, apologize if I misinterpreted your response.

Look at us—just two civil lemmings having a polite conversation. This really is the superior social media.

  • Generally speaking, I agree with you, but in this case, there is a massive amount of evidence in the released documents that suggests there is an international network supplying women to powerful people. Several of these people are still in office or hold aristocratic titles, and they will do damn near anything to hold on to those.

Let’s say it was basic incompetence that led the guards to fall asleep and the cameras to malfunction—how did Epstein know that was happening to act at the moment that he did?
