  • Pdf Xchange is one I use a lot. Wish they'd make a Linux version instead of just saying to use Wine. I'd buy it again if they'd released it on Linux to get some of the newer features (correct scans, monochrome recoloring, delete all children, dark page mode).

  • I meant up relative to the boiling point. Since the boiling point is lower, the same heat output is relatively higher. It just boils the water faster and does nothing to the temperature. You just need enough heat to get it to a boil if you don't want to waste extra water and heat.

  • Boiling water is a fixed temperature at a given air pressure. Turning up the heat doesn't make the water hotter. You just lose it faster. If you need higher temperatures and are cooking in boiling water, then you have to use a pressure cooker.

    Kinda curious how many people who have had sex felt like this beforehand and how people's thoughts like this have changed with the generations.

    I can't provide any advice since I can't really imagine not being uncomfortable with such a scenario. Like, its hard to emotionally understand how so many people eventually have sex and isn't some niche thing some tiny minority do. But I'm ace and trans.

  • I love how a 4 panel comic about dismissal of women's medical concerns is getting multiple commentors who want to dismiss those problems because a 4 panel comic doesn't explicitly go into the a specific nuance they are focused on. Plenty of people get the punchline just fine without it.

  • Sure, there are valid medical reasons. This comic isn't about that. It's about the outright dismissal of women's problems. It's not about changing treatment based on pregnancy status despite the mention of pregnancy - it's about the ignoring the problem exists at all to be fixed.

  • Its satirizing the tendency for doctors to be more dismissive of women having pain than men, for example. This would be more of a problem with non-visible causes of pain, especially ones that predominantly effect women such as chronic migraines. This comic takes extrapolates this to comedic effect by using a gunshot wound instead.

  • I mostly call my moms by their first names. I almost never directly refer to them as "mom." When talking about them to people who know them, I refer to them by their names. Basically only call them my mom to people who don't know my parents.

    I'm in the US. But I think part of the reason I do that is having multiple moms. OTOH, they are trying to teach our niece to call them grammy and nana and I know my cousins have a similar way of differentiating their moms.
