  • I tend to fall asleep out of nowhere. Sometimes it looks like I got shot. Sometimes my legs are crossed or my hands are folded behind my head. Sometimes I fall asleep on the floor while playing with the cat.

  • It depends. Jesus is certainly as important as Mohammed to Muslims and it's not prohibited to celebrate his birth but some would never participate simply because it's a Christian tradition. Also the ban of images makes all the customs around Christmas a little tricky. In Turkey for example a lot of Muslims do celebrate but you won't find nativity scenes or stuff like that there, only images of Noel Baba ("Christmas Dad" = Santa) who is modeled after Saint Nicholas but himself not a religious figure.

  • First of all it's your hobby and you can do whatever you want forever. That being said if you want to improve your skills you won't get there by relying on shortcuts. Drawing is 10% talent and 90% practice as are many creative skills. There are great tutorials out there to teach you about proportions, perspective, lighting and so on. And the most important thing is persistence. Draw everything you want to and try not to care too much about the outcome. If you stay at it then sooner or later you will be able to draw all sorts of things just like you imagined them without even thinking about it.

  • Is "mechatronic" a job description in English? I'm not sure what the accurate translation would be otherwise but it's a mix of metalworking, electrical engineering and programming. We mostly repair industrial electric motors and big ass generators used in hydroelectric power plants.

  • What's the last workshop you did and did you learn anything useful from it?

  • I'm just done with a three month manual metalworking course as part of my electrical engineering apprenticeship. I've done a fair bit of woodworking in the past so it was interesting to see how those two compare. I'm personally not a huge fan of 3D printing so it's nice that I can make a whole bunch of stuff like housings or replacement parts from metal now.

  • The company could flip any time but for now their products are pretty good as a google alternative. I use the calendar, mail, cloud, contacts and vpn app and have zero complaints. Plus they couldn't access any of my data if they wanted to.

  • My cat has started swiping/clawing at me to wake me up or for attention. Is it ok to remove him from my bedroom when he does this?

  • People say scolding cats doesn't work but when mine started doing this I responded by yelling "NO" at the top of my lungs which caused her to evacuate at full speed. Took about 4 or 5 times until the behavior stopped and she's just as affectionate. She still wakes me up from time to time but only by meowing and not as early.
