  • So a fact I learned a few years ago still highlights the NYC mayor problem to me:

If NYC were a country, it would have the 13th largest economy in the world, between Canada and Russia.

With that in mind: THESE are the people we have to choose from to run this thing?!

  • We are in a ridiculous timeline.

  • I’m confident that Musk has seen Trump’s dick. Not that he’s touched it. Not that it aroused him. But he’s definitely seen it.

  • It feels like Zuckerberg is out of ideas and just chases the trends to stay relevant. He was all in on the “metaverse” until he wasn’t because the concept disappeared. Now, he’s all in on AI because everyone else is. Even the quest, before it became the face of the metaverse, was him chasing another big idea from someone else.

He and the company haven’t had original ideas in a very long time. Even the smaller ones, like Stories and Reels, are just ideas copied from someone else.

  • I had to disengage from the news a bit, too. I put my News follows on Mastodon on a separate list and stopped listening to NPR Up First.

We’re fucked, but hearing about it non-stop wasn’t good for my mental health.

  • We need to keep needling him. If successful, it would be incredibly fun to see him turn on Musk like he’s done to pretty much everyone else.

  • Looks like ole Matty Boy was trying to expedite his upward movement in the GOP.

You think they high fived him after writing the report?

  • Another sad case of progressives winning in policy but failing in messaging.

The right ONLY focuses on messaging (what’s the last real policy win for them?) which makes them incredibly difficult to keep up with.

  • How the hell does she not retire immediately? She’s in a senior home. She’s not representing her district at all.

  • Another soulless billionaire kisses the ring.

  • My wife is so excited for the snack wrap to come back.

  • It upsets me too but I don’t think being angry about it will change anything. I’d rather take a moment to learn a lesson from her because I’m not sure I’d be so publicly level headed about it.

She’s on a big stage and this is a big moment for a community of marginalized people. She needs to be strong, not just for herself, but the people who find a reflection of themselves in her. Her ability to stay calm in this silly storm is admirable.

  • I don’t know much about her, but she’s clearly handling this situation with an incredible amount of class. I respect the heck out of her for that.

  • If they voted then they aren’t illegally here?

  • I don’t think you understand how determined the buyers are once they’ve been convinced by the scammer. I used to work for a major retailer that had signs at the register AND messages that the customer had to accept on the signature pad confirming they didn’t believe they were being scammed before going through with the purchase.

Additionally, my team was instructed to call me over any time they had a customer who they felt was being scammed to try to talk to them. Sometimes, I was successful, but other times I wasn’t. There is still one guy who goes in weekly to buy $500 of various gift cards for his overseas “girlfriend” on WhatsApp. I tried talking to him multiple times and he became increasingly angry at the conversation. I just had to accept I couldn’t help him.

  • The word “weird” gets overused a lot but this is weird as fuck. Pretty creepy.

  • Anyone else hate seeing billionaires, for either side, being so blatantly involved in trying to tip the scales? It’s always been done behind the scenes, but now it’s out in the open and we’re supposed to be happy about it?

  • Doesn’t surprise me. He owes everything to the McMahon family who was also closely aligned to Trump.

  • I wonder if it’s because Trump doesn’t want to share the spotlight
