  • I miss the computer being at work and not at my house. When you left work for the day, you left work. Now we all have laptops and are expected to be able to work anytime, anywhere.

    Anybody else remember the 30lb “portable” Compaqs?

    I should clarify that we had a few computers, but only in college. (Am old.) That picture up there reminds me of when my first firm finally got PC's. No mice, all keyboard. Before that they were IBM word processors with the 10 inch dual floppy drives that looked like toasters.

  • Well , not for something like this. The olympian was held for five hours and released. Hearing date is July 9. If he even has an employer (he may be retired), his boss would just laugh if he said, “Yeah, so I got arrested, and this is why…” (Now, if he’d been arrested on suspicion of murder or something, that would be another issue altogether.)

  • I know they wanted to buy a warehouse in western MD to house 1500 prisoners; I saw an interview with the head of the local water utility who said the building had two toilets and two water fountains. “If they want to house 1500 people there, they’re going to need to run more water out there. And no one has talked to me about this.” I don’t get the impression this whole thing was very well thought out.
