  • Mine are about once a month or two. I live in Florida so the air is humid and warm, my issue isn't with the frequency but rather that they won't stop. I'm on a medicine that has a side effect of thinning blood, I looked into getting it fixed and decided wasn't big enough of a deal to actually do.Glad it worked for you though!

  • If you get nosebleeds often, especially in cold weather, get some 'nasal spray' I don't know the exact name but mine is from Dollar General and says "Nasal Spray oxymetazoline HCL 0.05%" on the bottle. It'll stop it in like 5 minutes instead of 30. With the only drawback being that I now have a slightly bloody bottle in my purse 😅

Also they sell little cotton tubes that you can put up your nose and those work pretty well also.

  • because not everyone is terminally online.

LGBT people exist irl too, you'd be surprised how many there are once you get to know them. People you never would've thought were lgbt you can now recognize. I'm from Florida which is pretty conservative and I know 5+ trans people (including non-binary).

They're pretty cool too! I have a trans guy friend who will absolutely LOVE to talk about how cars work and fishing spots given the chance. He taught me how to change the oil on my car. I'm hoping to get him a blahaj for Christmas :)

  • me copy pasting a line of code in 20 different places just to go back and make a function for it

  • Calling people what they ask to be called just doesn't have to be this difficult.

Yeah, I don't really understand why people get so upset about Drag specifically, like it's not that hard once you figure it out.

  • Oh yeah it took me a while to default to 'they' instead of 'he/she' lolSometimes I still mess up and assume, and sometimes I say 'they' when I don't mean to also. Brains are weird.

  • Don't take it that way. I find the default UI horrible and primarily use Lemmy on Voyager on my phone because of it. Finding this thread let me find that I can comfortably use Lemmy on desktop too! 🥳

I didn't join Lemmy for a while because I liked the "new" reddit UI better and found Lemmy too different to use easily. I tried all the different options and I didn't like them. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED ON DESKTOP!

And remember survivorship bias. The ones that can put up with the Lemmy UI, or switch to something they like better, are (for the most part) the only ones here now giving feedback.

  • I see. Thanks!

  • respectible opinion 👍

  • is that not what the 3rd frame is saying?

  • i think this post is funny

  • wish there was an option for "pay the platform the few cents the ads make" instead of me paying the platform a wild and ever increasing amount of money

Tbh I feel like they should take a ~30% cut from the creator tips feature and add that to a "ad balance" which would remove ads and subtract the few cents they would've got from the ad. That way YouTube gets paid, the consumer doesn't get ads, and the creator gets encouraged to make good content.

  • “To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”

    Speak your facts, king
