Yeah I'll never understand the tendency for people to make memes with an expression that holds no decipherable meaning and also has a caption "such and such be like..."
I don't think this is exactly correct. The distro maintainer is responsible for choosing when and how to roll out/test upstream updates. So if they are doing their job, they would be pumping the brakes on specific kernel updates until they've worked out issues with them (or waited for upstream to fix them). So distros based on Ubuntu may or may not experience the specific issues that get rolled out upstream of them. Also, there could've been things elementary os was combining with the kernel updates that could've caused breakages.
I actually started my Linux as a daily driver journey on elementary os. There were some pretty major breakages that caused me to look elsewhere. I forget what they were but it was very frustrating. I landed on pop os because, like elementary, it's Ubuntu minus some of the garbage. I think pop os is better now than it used to be, and I still daily drive it. It's been a while since I had any major issue that seemed to be the os itself. Can't remember the last one actually so it was probably years ago.
Not only used for debugging and also if you log a complex object, the way it gets displayed in the console is not always easy/possible to fully inspect. It will get.. truncated for lack of a better word
Exactly. Contract workers aren't just used to save the company money, they've effectively been used as a blanket shield against any responsibility for the decisions and practices the companies themselves are absolutely responsible for. It's bogus AF and needs to stop.
It's not a competition and this is not even remotely a good way to talk about this, but yes, men on TV and in every day life often denigrate other men.
Yeah, and I don't know what I'm talking about really, but I thought sadism was normally on a smaller scale. This seems like a different thing than your average sadist. "I need thousands of people to be miserable!" Is different than "somehow I get off on seeing a person suffering"
Please, no one think this is making excuses for her at all, because she's utter trash, but I wonder if it would require some pretty intense mental disorder to be this focused on other people's lives, and wanting so badly to make them suffer.
I'm not implying being a man is worse expectation-wise, but it is just not at all accurate to say men aren't belittled all the time for not "being man enough".
This is another win because if someone is spreading misinformation I don't want to hear from them and I know they're probably unreachable anyhow. If they blocked me I can call out the misinformation without a flame war, from them anyhow.
My system used to always be a music folder full of album subfolders named like artistName - year - albumName. I did so much manual work to make that happen and then Spotify came along. I mostly neglected my collection for a decade, only adding to it occasionally. When Spotify aligned themselves with Nazis I cancelled my subscription and started about hosting my own collection with Plex for streaming. I had let my organization system go to shit and now I've got a mess.
I'm currently working on a script that will identify naming convention issues and eventually spit out a list of commands for renaming/moving folders. I also want the script to identify metadata issues, dupes, and missing tracks. I know there are a lot of tools that do a lot of this already, but I don't like any of them I've found so far. I especially don't like the idea of an opinionated tool redoing my library by making destructive writes, thousands of files/folders at a time, without me approving changes first. A lot of them work that way.
