This is spot on. For MAGA, it's not that Trump is on the list, it's that the Democrats and elites are. He can do what he wants, they can't. For the rest of us, though, all the names on the list matter.
Dogshit? No. Different? Definitely. The wild yeasts on the skin weren't cultivated for alcohol tolerance, so ancient wines would tend to have a lower ABV. They might have some sourness from bacteria found on the skin along with the yeast. Whether or not they'd be sweet or dry would depend on the yeasts and the grapes themselves. There would be a lot of variability from year to year. The Romans, for one, preferred sweeter wines and would add grape syrup, defrutum, made from boiling down grape juice, if the wine was dry. Other cultures might do something similar or just grin and bear it. There was a lot of variety across time and place.
It should be noted that the Romans would sometimes use lead vessels for making defrutum. This would add lead acetate to the syrup, which has a sweet taste, and make it even sweeter.
I guess I should have been specific. J Edgar was certainly a monster, he ran the FBI like his own private army and multiple presidents just let him do it.
Perhaps principled wasn't the best term I could have used. It was meant in terms of their philosophy of the role of government. There's no question that Herbert Hoover prioritized that over helping people.
His presidency will be remembered not for what he did, which was mostly good, but for what he did not do. His legacy will be viewed similarly to Hoover's. Both were principled men who, when faced with a serious problem, could not find it in themselves to deal with it.
Not an expert, but it could depend on whether it's considered a dishonorable discharge or not. Common sense would say no, this should be something akin to a medical discharge, but given everything that's going on I wouldn't bet on that.
