  • They are in safe seats so far. I don't think it would make a difference.

  • There's a process to change the constitution. If they want to go that route they have to follow that process.

  • Kavenaugh ruled the order unconstitutional but with a different opinion (federal law instead of the constitution) maybe that is why they put him in a different group.

  • You can tell this because the Slaughter ruling released at the same time undermines independent agencies, the Court says the Fed is a special case for some reason. Hmmm....

It's not logic, they want a King, just not one who can fuck up their portfolio. Clownshoes Court.

  • Thiel for sure thinks he's John Galt.

  • It's a tie between: The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension

See John Lithgow chew the scenery as the villain, plus Jamaicans are the good guy aliens. Classic bad movie, but fun to watch.

    and

    Remo Williams

It's terrible, it's racist and sexist in a 1980s way. But it has Kate Mulgrew and she's awesome in it.

  • They were originally developed as translation software, after all.

  • Punctuated equilibrium.

  • I love how all their proposed solutions are similarly disconnected from reality. Like "Let's just give the poors a big break on income taxes". Income taxes on lower-income families are already low, plus if nobody has a job in the AI dystopia then what do income taxes matter?

  • His faith must be weak for it to be shaken so easily.

  • Certainly coming as no surprise to any queer person over the age of, say, 35 or so. Old enough to remember when gays were social pariahs and our only sponsors were like lube companies and condom manufacturers. Then as it became less acceptable to shit on LGBT people companies started 'supporting' pride. Bravely speaking out only once it risked nothing. And predictably when the fascists decide to punish companies for providing their support all these 'trailblazers' muzzle themselves with the least surprising amount of alacrity. They were never allies and never interested in anything but our dollars. Fuck the lot of them. We can see who our friends are.

  • I've said it before, but if his reddit post history is any indication, if he's a Nazi plant he's playing the really long game. Not that he hasn't posted stupid shit, but the worst of it was posted long ago and it's fair to account for personal growth.

I don't think he is the best progressive candidate possible but he probably isn't a Nazi. Just kind of ignorant.

  • I grew up with a computer in the 80s and for years i would stare at the keyboard while mentally keeping track of what I was typing.

I took keyboarding in middle school and learned to touch type but it took years of practice to break the habits I formed as a child.

Now I'll be typing something and my husband will walk in so I'll pause and look over to see what he needs. One time he said "don't stop on my account" so I started typing again while staring at him.

I can hold a full conversation while doing this but have to slow down to around 60wpm to avoid transcribing the conversation.

  • States have the right to levy taxes. This is a special income tax, not a fine. The state isn't suing anyone, they are just defining a form of income having a certain tax rate.

  • I promise that everyone in this subthread hates phone systems less than I do. And there is a good reason you all have these infuriating experiences.

    And the reason is stupid.

  • So it's just a pile of useless garbage because Martin hired a buddy to do it part-time instead of bringing in an independent investigator and he hid it because it's embarrassingly bad, but still tried to talk-up its importance even as he knew it was drivel until he was forced to release it and be revealed to be even more dishonest and incompetent than we already suspected.

But reading between the lines, it looks like the whole thing was intended as an effort to hide that Biden's unconditional support for Israel probably cost them the election which would have been determined by a real investigator so he intentionally brought in his buddy to fuck the thing up and muddy the waters so they can 'move on' and 'not think about what went wrong too much'.

  • When I worked at B&N way back in the day the policy was to sell any book that was legal to sell, though many would have to be ordered. In that regard, as long as AI slop is legal to sell I don't have any particular problem with a store selling it.

I wouldn't buy it, of course. It's bound to be wretched.

  • Flock should have splurged and bought two more councilmembers.
