  • Holy shit, I have to give it to CNN, they have an awesome news website. The story seems good and straightforward, not 2 lines of text padded to be 2000 words. No paywall annoyance. Not a billion ads ruining the page, popping in all over the place. No auto play video and the only video included is actually relevant to the story. The video has no nonsense like unneeded intros and outros, no bullshit, no pre-roll or post-roll ads, no dumb AI voice-over. The images are relevant to the story and kept to a minimum. It includes an inline reference to another story, but it's not intrusive and the story is actually related to this story.

The cookie banner is annoying and non-compliant in the EU, but still perfectly serviceable and not intrusive. They didn't even hijack my back button, which is almost a given these days.

I hardly knew websites like this still existed. I like to bitch about when websites suck and almost always close them immediately or the OP posts an Archive link because the site is so bad. But it's only fair to give kudos where deserved, excellent website.

  • I assume the 2700 is SRP? Don't use SRP ever, it's total nonsense. It has in fact become such nonsense use of SRP in marketing/sales is actually illegal in the EU. Instead of it being an actual price point manufacturers intended for the product to be sold at, it's always always a factor of that. So shops could advertise with a 50% discount on SRP, to get at what is just the regular price and not even a good one at that. That was considered so misleading, SRP use is banned. Instead the marketing can only be based on actual lowest prices the product was for sale at.

  • Akshually we currently have no rocket with enough power to launch that much mass towards the Sun. People always assume because the Sun has a lot of gravity, stuff moves toward it automatically. But when launching from Earth that's not the case. Earth is in orbit around the Sun, in order to get to the Sun you need to lose all that energy. Since rhino's are heavy af you'd need a mighty rocket indeed.

We could with some effort maybe launch one small rhino, say 600-700kg towards the Sun. And it requires some fancy ass orbital mechanics. So it would travel way more than 91.511 million miles before ending up in the Sun. This rhino would probably not survive the launch, which is just as well given its destination and travel time.

  • You can't have proper fascism without regular razzias

  • To add to this good info: In the post is a screenshot showing the SPF/DKIM/DMARC info on the mail, it all checks out. So even if you are tech savvy and actually check these things, in this case they got it licked.

This is what elevates this attack from every day regular attack to holy shit I could have fallen for that.

  • So they go out of their way to broadcast their personal radio calls and stick a microphone under their noses before they've gotten good and well out of the car. Then they get their panties in a bunch when one of them uses a swear word? Right....

  • After they duped idiots out of millions with the Trump coin, they quickly (in 1 day) threw together the Melania coin. Because they saw how easy it was to pump their base for money, so they just did it twice because why not?

No way this is legal, but with Trump that doesn't seem to matter one bit. They also state it has nothing to do with the presidency or any government related thing, but I don't really see how that's possible if it's the official coin of the (at time of launch) president elect. Not that any of this will ever go to court, but still.

I wouldn't be surprised if they release a Junior coin somewhere in the next months, the Trump base is so far gone they will continue to throw their money on the grift that is Trump.

  • Lackluster attempt to stay relevant, so fucking stop reporting about him and the other idiots! It's fucking working if you report about it.

Especially that ubercunt Boebert who is the equivalent of a 5 year old child shouting about peepee and poopoo for attention. And I know one thing about those children, they don't stop till you ignore them.

  • Can confirm these are highly personalized. I have two different lists on two different phones. One I use for work and has work apps on it, the other for personal use. Both have different top charts which seems to be based on location and installed apps.

  • Thanks for letting us know! Happy it worked out

  • They should have made it opt-in instead of opt-out IMHO. You can still get the old subscription when you renew, but you have to jump through a couple of hoops. If you do nothing you just get "upgraded" for no reason.

  • Let us know how you get on!

I tried the 45 degrees method, but my print bed wasn't quite large enough to make it fit. It ended up too short and the hose kept falling out.

  • How did you do the layer lines?

I tried to print one of these things once, with the layer lines perpendicular to the central axis. So just a tube standing straight up on the print bed. It didn't work at all. The shop vac was inserted in one end and the other end into the machine. However this meant the interface in between was completely unsupported. With the hose hanging on one end, as soon as I moved the machine around in use, the thing snapped off across a layer line. I tried a couple more times with thicker walls, higher temps and more infill, but the layer to layer bond just wasn't strong enough. I tried ABS and PETG, the PETG held up best but still broke within a couple of hours of use.

So I ended up ordering an injection molded part, probably glass reinforced nylon or something like that and have been using that ever since. Still bugs me, because it seemed like a perfect time for the 3D printer to shine.

  • Because people have an intuitive feeling about how much 1 kW is, because they use devices with a power rating in Watt and have a feel for how powerful a device is at what rating. People also know exactly what an hour is. So it makes sense to think about a device of 1kW running for 1 hour, people have a good sense of how much energy that is in daily use. Since most energy bills are also in terms of kWh, people also have a good sense about the costs of that energy.

Given the popularity of the unit, I think people like it, otherwise a different unit would have been used already.

  • Cringe

  • I'm from Buenos Aires and I say kill em all!

  • What is this? Some kind of crossover episode?

  • Enshittified used to have a very specific meaning in the lifecycle of a product/service. These days it just means "getting worse". And yes, everything is getting worse all the time.
