  • So you had nothing to say about whats wrong with planned urbanization, so you went again for a personal attack, and switching to something something about marxist or communism because... Well, honestly, I don't know why nor do I care.

This is the only thing of value you wrote

Objectively, it was bad to build unhabitable skyskrapers.

Yes. Those few bad actors who build tofu buildings in Tukery, Greece, China, Myanmar, Bangkok, or USA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyatt_Regency_walkway_collapse#%3A%7E%3Atext=On+July+17%2C+1981%2C+two%2Cweight+it+held+that+night.) or wherever are bad and did wrong. What's your point?

  • Yeah, my server end with ml so I must be a tankie, makes sense.

It cannot be that I genuinely appreciate long term vision policies. I must be a tankie. And you're right, those cities were not needed, and planned urbanization must be planned only 2 years ahead because everything else is speculative bubble made for speculation.

  • I'm sorry, I'm a little bit lost. I do agree that investment in owning rentals should be forbidden (and if city needs rental units they should be owned by the city).

I do not agree that "ghost cities" were built for speculative purposes. Speculants were buying them like crazy, yes, but the actual need for housing in regions planned (expected?) to undergo urbanization is real and the buildings were fulfilling that purpose.

  • There are always bad actors in the system (see: hedge funds). But bubble? It can be argued that Ordos (the ghost city) was build too early, but it's filling in nicely. From 30k in 2009 to 2.000.000+ in 2020.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordos_City

On the other hand noone ever build a damn whole modern city before for the people, so I'm not surprised they jumped the gun.

  • And the main AI companies have actual products that make money for them rolled out already. So it is not like the dot com bubble

    Citation needed.

  • Krakow is a tourist trap. All touristy places don't care about returning customers, thus food will be bad, or - if you're lucky - just meh.

  • I wouldn't really know, I live in Poland and whenever I go West I'm surprised how backward technologically it is (France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland; only Portugal seems to be modern).

Maybe not backward but lacking internet-related improvements, like being able to take care of government thingies online (I think Denmark is the best in that regard), pay using your national pay processors, get cheap internet, update your opening hours online, not take a 4h break midday... you know, common conveniences

  • Islam and Middle Eastern religions have been around FAR longer than any country in the west has existed.

I want to say no, because there are sheds in Scotland (100 BC) older than Islam (600 AD), and 600 AD in Europe we had shitton of Kingdoms etc, but maybe I didn't understand your point? Could you explain what did you mean?

  • I wonder if you know that both Christianity and Islam are just splinter sects of Judaism? And if you're against Judaism, or think it's evil or smthing, you should consider being against its spin-offs.

  • We dont; we need USA pay processors alternatives, and of those in EU we have plenty (but I don't know your specific country, so maybe not in your country).

  • The Middle East was one of the most progressive places in the world. Islam is still the most tolerant religion

Either you're trolling, or have never studied history of Islam, it's birth and spread. Or were taught those by your local priest.

  • We also have an active Discord server, jump in if you ever need help or wanna chat about the game or fun builds :)

  • Dawncaster - a portrait mode rogue deckbuilder. It's gorgeous and fun and actively developed - all new card expansions are free and the release cycle alternate them with paid expansions that give you new possible harder bosses (or different card art etc). So far we have 2300 cards, extremely well received visual impairment support (honestly the only game I know of that have good blind support), and over 700k words of text (for story, events, mechanics etc).

Overall I find the price model very fair - kinda like Path of Exile model?

  • This is known and quite popular genre of porn.

  • Depending on the city in Poland they might also be either painted in pastel colors or there might be murals on them.

    Example:

And the wide green corridors between them were a constant feature as far as I know (at least I don't remember NOT seeing wide grass + trees + some flowers corridors between 'em).

I do agree that Czechs picked better colors for it and keeps them fresher.

  • Yes - if you look at the PCR history you'll notice that China pivoted hard to capitalism and extorting the proletariat in the late 80's and 90's, to the point where there were communist intellectuals and workers protesting against it - Tianmen Square protests were (also) against pivot from communism, see e.g. https://socialistworker.co.uk/news/china-1989-workers-in-revolt/

  • I'm from Poland.

I’m talking Soviet-style, grey concrete commieblocks

    So the commieblocks are always:

    • few minutes walk from school, kindergarten, grocery, doctor's office, post, dentist and bus stops
    • sane distance from another block
    • either surrounded by good greenery, or next to a park
    • surprisingly good quality
    • small elevator
    • little parking spaces

    Vs "modern" blocks:

    • large elevator
    • the blocks are so close, if you open your window you could pee in the neighbours coffee cup
    • usually surrounded by pavement, cement, or car parking
    • better at noise reduction
    • you're more likely to need a car to go to doctor's office or drop your kids off, or go to the grocer.

To me the ideal is the commie era urban planning with modern techniques, but that's uncommon.

  • I could never understand how people be stupid enough to need to memorize the multiplication as a table or some other shiet.

I always calculated the result - i remembered some of the combinations naturally from repetition.

The whole idea of multiplication table is stupid af.

    7 x 8? It's 7 x 10 - 2 x7. 12 x 11? It's 12 x 10 + 12 you dumb fucks.
