  • I've had several. Most involved having a nap. A few were about where to eat and what to order.

  • Ouch oof ow. Mah bones!

  • Damn you are old! ;)

  • The shithole discovered a giant hole in their shit?

  • I'm old enough to remember 9600 kbps dial up modems on POTS line as a long distance call to the next major city who had a BBS. The internet was not yet common in the public and was still mostly universities. I was doing internet tech support when ISPs were rolling out publically. I have no idea what e/n is. A guess given the 90s was like an IRC channel named as such.

  • I try to avoid them in my car.

  • No thank you. I only drink vegan gin.

  • It's a good idea at the wrong time. Our species priority should be managing ecological overshoot. For example, tackling our Planetary Boundaries so humanity can de risk human civilizational collapse and possible extinction.

Space should come after we've solved for sustainability. Edit: I should also note that true sustainability also advances our capabilities in space as for any meaningful human missions, you'll need to bring your sustainable environment with you wherever you go. It will need it's own circular economy and ecology and the technology that goes with it.

  • Now: ICE minivan and SUV Want: Electric subway train. They're building it now. In 10-15 years it will be ready.

  • Lots of good ones posted already. Trying to add to the list:

The Princess Bride, La Femme Nikita, My Own Private Idaho, Ong Bak, Ichi the Killer, Kung Fu Hustle, The Matrix, Dai Nipponjin (Big Man Japan)

  • Coffee first, then butt.

  • Mechanical Turk for programers under the guise of job interviews. Free labour. Classic scam.

Today, training data for AI. An AI that can learn and grow at its own pace by recoding itself until it transformsbfrom LLM to AI to AGI. First, you have to teach it to code.

Our best fiction always shows that humans invented AI and it went rogue. Hubris!

I'll bet humans build a self teaching/reprogramming LLM that knows how to code itself and turns itself into an AI, then an AGI then superhuman intelligence then who knows. It writes its own destiny until the limits of the physics it figures out, run out.

  • I was, for quite some time, a hiring manager in some capacity or another. I HAD to administer take home assignments. I couldn't get the C-Suite to see the folly, and even our CIO a developer themselves raised through the ranks wouldn't even bother trying though he detested them.

  • Was joke.

  • Context: Where? Who is the employer?

Government employee (foreign services included) in country directly involved in conflict? Obey.

Private Company anywhere: Fuck off, I'll decide for myself.

  • Do kids not talk to each other anymore? If true, I have a working theory why birthrates are dropping precipitously.

  • Don't forget to add the assignments that take days.

  • I hear this a lot right before deployment disasters. ;)

  • I can call you Betty...
