  • I'm very much in favour of gender abolition, but I'm not sure that's what TERFs who self describe as 'radical feminists' mean by the term :p

  • "Radical" feminism, ie, not true feminism. Hijacking the name to try oppress men 'in return' for women being oppressed, or to oppress trans people.

  • So apparently now "men's right activists" also doesn't mean what it is just like "feminist"? I find all this redefinition of words really annoying and confusing :(

Can't "men's rights activists" just mean people who advocate for men's rights? Or better yet, stop with the binary gendered language, and instead advocate for gender equity?

  • It's more about experience than age. If you prevent 13 year olds from gaining online experience, they'll have the same level of inexperience when you expose them to the internet at 16.

  • I think you have to operate in the framework of the sensory world when acting within the sensory world, and like using science and stuff to work out what's likely to happen if you do certain things as opposed to other things. But that's not the same as saying that you believe the physical world is real

  • What do you mean by being spiritual? I'm an idealist so I think consciousness/subjective perception is the fundamental substrate of reality, and matter/the physical world is just an illusion, but I wouldn't consider myself spiritual...

  • Well, you said you've been eating more protein. That's it. You need to eat less, not more. Also doing more exercise also makes you more hungry, which makes you eat more if you just focus on what you're eating, as opposed to how much. Also gaining muscles makes you gain (muscle) weight. GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic or Mounjaro can help you eat less by making you feel full for longer.

  • What's cultural programming? 👀

    Is that like societal norms?

  • Others have already answered your question, but I'd like to note that it's timely to ask this during women's history month :p

  • That's an interesting fallacy, I haven't heard it before. I'll have to note it down, "dismissal from imaginary pamphlet"

  • This is just more child abuse disguised as "parental rights". It becomes clear how harmful this is when you realise that not all parents have their childrens best interests at heart (even if they think they do and sincerely mean well) and allowing parents to censor the information children have available to them allows them to censor information that the children learn only too late to prevent harm.

  • No, I present how I prefer to present. I don't really know what an agender style would be, and I don't like wearing masculine styles - since my gender doesn't really go to that part of the spectrum anymore

  • There's a difference between allowing a child to choose which permanent change they want to happen to them out of two options, or delaying the choice, rather than making a permanent choice that can be made mater at no detriment.

  • I fall under the nonbinary umbrella as I used to be genderfluid - my gender would change over time between feminine, agender, and masculine, and now it's just genderflux as I oscillate between agender (no gender identity) and varying levels of femininity. (I plot it on a scale where G1=fully masculine, G5=agender, and G10=fully feminine. I used to go between G4 and G10 (mostly around G5-7), but recently it's been more between G5 to G10 (with most of the time between G6-8) - so I've gotten more feminine over time.) And this is to do with my internal identity, mostly defined by levels of dysphoria/euphoria and how I feel about my body, not how I present.

I present mostly fairly unambiguously feminine though, maybe slightly tomboyish/gender neutral as I generally wear T shirts and jeans and stuff as opposed to say dresses. I do paint my nails, style my hair, wear makeup

  • Adolescents are the only ones taking puberty blockers anyway - when the kids are trans. When they're cis, children take them to prevent precocious puberty. Do you think they shouldn't be allowed to?

  • Is taking puberty blockers one of those "life altering decisions" you think children shouldn't be allowed to take (spoiler, not taking them is also a life altering decision, and a more harmful one)? Also, do you discriminate between children and adolescents?
