I'd be shocked if the BBC's defence didn't include a countersuit to the effect that his original suit calling them liars amounted to defamation. Trump can drop his suit but has no control over whether the BBC can file or continue a countersuit.
There doesn't really need to be a canon, because with the amount of Barry Allen-level time fuckery the show does, things can be erased or reinstated as required by the story. For example, the Last Great Time War involved the Time Lords and Daleks trying to erase each other from history, so everything from "before" that, essentially the entirety of Classic Who, can easily be said to have been retconned out of existence by the Time War. The lives of the First-through-Eighth Doctors might still have happened, but who knows what details have changed as a result of the Time War's time fuckery. And in fact we know that near the end of the war, the retcons and erasures became so numerous that all of the defunct versions of the timeline themselves became another part of the war:

If human history can be changed from "gravity" to "mavity" by accident, imagine the kinds of changes that took place when the Time Lords and Daleks were attacking each other's histories on purpose.

My question is what even is Tyland's role in the story anymore? Why would the writers fake kill him off, to bring him back in a position where he can no longer play out his story from the books? What is his narrative purpose now? I assume the writers have a reason.
I love that they talked about Meria Nymeros Martell, the Yellow Toad of Dorne. Eventually we'll get Aegon's Conquest and there is now no doubt in my mind that HBO intends to show us the failed Dornish campaign.
Elsewhere, we see the common refrain in history where river crossings are so much more crucial than people realize. And we see how House Frey re-learns the bitter lesson that people only care about them when they want to use their bridge, but once they've done so, all promises will be quickly forgotten. I'm sure it won't make them bitter and suspicious. But we should probably rewatch Jace's negotiation with them to see if he said "mayhaps".
It's kinda crazy how with a little gold Ormund was able to build, out of random peasants, a crack assassination squad, capable of slaughtering entire squads of gold cloaks in their very headquarters. I suppose if food is still scarce people will be desperate enough to do anything.
But it seems to me that perhaps this should have been a job for Mysaria - she's supposed to be the one with her ear to the ground, but she's spending all her attention on Alicent. She knew Blood and Cheese and had them in her pocket, so sniffing out malcontents and mercenary hearts SHOULD be right in her wheelhouse. A funny thing I've noticed: her accent is an exaggerated version of Varys's, so I guess he hadn't lost his Lysene accent as completely as he thought.

It was interesting to hear how both Aegon and Aemond both felt that Alicent loved the other one more. And hearing Larys finally snap and tell Aegon how insufferable he is was so satisfying.
Oh I mean he's definitely gonna head to the holodeck to jerk it, but he probably just uses a stock character. He seems in too much of a rush to feed a real person's data into the computer and tweak the settings and everything. As we saw with Janeway and her Irish caricature guy, tweaking the settings is a long process.
Has Riker made holograms of real people to smooch with? Because "using the holodeck for sexytimes" isn't the problem; everyone does that. It's the "using real people" that's the problem. Same reason people were creeped out or offended when Barclay did it.
If you accept the concept of objective morality, then yes, it's a moral issue. But I've already pointed out that population size is not the cause nor the solution. These are not actual percentages, but if I say "20% of the people cause 80% of the waste", hopefully you'll understand the underlying concept I'm trying to communicate.
