What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

The goal this year (2026) is to lurk less and post and comment more.

  • I don't know the details of your break up, but when I went through my last serious relationship where he broke up with me over text, I just stopped talking to him. Yes, I cried a lot because I was so confused and destroyed because hd kept telling me that it wasn't anything that I'd done (found out later he was cheating), but I knew I had to move on.

    I turned my sadness in to anger and picked up running and exercise. Endorphins helped a lot, and so did the mindset of "I'm going to be better, and he's going to regret it, but I'll never take him back." Probably not an entirely healthy way of deal with it, but it worked. Still cried every night, but it worked. I then found another sport and just fell in love with it, so I focused entirely on that. I'm still doing this sport today.

    You may never get the closure that you're satisfied with. This you will also have to accept. He may not even be telling you the truth.

    Make sure you have some supportive people around you, and keep yourself distracted. This is #1. Best of luck. You're stronger than you think.

  • Any talk of "we" from the boss really means "you". It's exceptionally maddening when the boss is already a POS who has an A+ for delegation but F- for teamwork and care factor.

  • I've just woken up so apologies if I haven't understood and answered this correctly... But there are travel cards that people use to convert currency. I personally have used Wise and Revolut.

  • I hear ya. I'm not a fan of the smell either, but for what I use it for, it works wonders. I also use Lucas Paw Paw when I can. It smells way nicer.

  • Vaseline. Is that non-standard? It doubles as lip balm and for those really dry patches of skin that come around (currently in Japan and it's been dry af). Or even for small cuts, or used as hand cream.

    Also can be used as a fire starter (for camping, just to clarify!).

  • I've just boiled the room kettle a few times, and leave the shower and bathroom door open before bed (not during a shower). Helps a bit, anyway.

  • When someone I've gifted food to sends me a message later in the day telling me the food, bread, whatever was sensational. It tells me that I've nailed their food preferences and tastes. I've done a good job.

    Food is my love language and it's how I like to say thank you and show appreciation.

  • This shows how much I didn't enjoy the second one - I couldn't even remember if there was one or two sequels, but I do remember there was supposedly another instalment in the works.
