  • It kind of is simple. They have to sell stuff. It's up to them how to do that.

Say we tax them at 15% of US assets after the first $1B. That'll slowly widdle them down.

  • You don't have to kill them. You could simply take their money. Then they wouldn't be billionaires. It's not like the money belongs to them. It belongs to the government. They're just holding on to it for a while.

  • Facts, by definition, are true

  • There are no alternative facts. Only additional facts.Alternatively there are lies.

  • You don't need to trust facts. That's what makes them facts.

Additionally, facts don't tell you anything about anything, outside the fact itself. The sun rose yesterday. It rose today. It doesn't automatically follow the sun will rise again tomorrow. That's speculation, based on interpretative pattern recognition. Or to put it another way: "That's just, like, your opinion man."

  • On what?Different people have different bodies of knowledge and experience. Their expertise on one question doesn't transfer to another.

  • Anything that verifies the claims the senators are making. If you're a reporter trying to inform people about a bill that passed, you should have people read it and find out what it actually does, instead of just quoting the people who probably passed without reading it themselves.

My reading of the bill is useless, because I'm not a lawer, or trained in reading these sorts of legal documents. I can't tell what's important or not. And I don't have a week/month to understand it.

  • That article is trash. It offers no details about what the bill actually says or does, just what the senators say it does. It's only reporting the horse race aspects of it's passage, which is the least important part.

  • For anyone curious, Manhattan is just under 23 square miles (59 square kilometers)

  • Well that's just geopolitics and economic upheval. That stuff happens all the time. I thought it might be something important.

  • My momma's deadYour momma sat on her head

  • I'd say Friends is worse. But it's a thin margin.Neither are good by any means. But my sister loves Friends, and she has terrible taste in television, so I'll accept her judgement.

  • Collapse of what?

  • What's that have to do with trans rights?

  • GoneMAD playing a local music library I keep on my phone.

  • That makes sense

  • I get the idea. But the joke is broken for me by the odd choice for an Andorian to have a hot tub. They're notoriously a cold adapted species.

  • At the start of trading maybe. But what about by market close? No idea

  • Yah, bestselling is wrong. Most profitable would be the term.
