Welcome to my profil, this is my main account. :)

  • Ah, thank for the notice. Maybe i haven't updated my matrix account...tedomum migrated their serveur to a new one and changed their tld

  • Nit really. We talked several time about inclusive language in french without reaching a conclusion since several montha

The main goal is to invite news users to contribute together and form some team and works together. To create some teamwork, collective.

It is not intended to remplace it's current development but help us to advance on several topic as translation, communication, small bug.

I saw a hackathon for yeswiki and it worked quite great. Devs who usually worked far aways in various countries meet each other IRL, talked about their daily life, then discussed about their project, technological choice then coded during the whole week-end.

Honnestly, i think it is great way to know each other, have fun. As long you don't put an absurd deadline.

  • If you need help, you can ask here or ask a matrix room to team for this projet. :)

  • Good idea for the matrix instance altough i prefer zulip for its channel management. Can you manage that ? :)

Anyway, we need a tool for teambuilding, a very simple one where we can share our need and ask for help without overhelming devs space.

The main idea of this project is too invite news users to give some time and contribute on few tasks. :)

  • If you are into text based chat with lot channels & topics and the ability to move discussion into a topic, i would recommend zulip. I find it better than Matrix.

you can try the zulip chat of piefed : https://chat.piefed.social

Mind it doesn't support visio chat.

  • Not really but there one retro theme that i love : irix1998

  • But i did it alone, so i stopped it.

  • Well, i wonder if we could automate the process. For example, if i tag a post with flairs, they could be added in a wiki.

  • Yeah the wiki is basic but it does its job. I enjoy a lot creating wiki and create lot ressource. It takes time but overtime it will be very valuable. :3

If you are interested, you can invite sopuli to create piefed instance if they haven't. There is lot cool feature that will boost your experience.

So what wiki do you want to create ? :)

  • PieFed is a software that support flair, tags, multicommu...your instance has opened a PieFed instance there : https://piefed.world

The account on jlai.lu allow ya to use local shorting so you can switch to french content or english easily as we do.

A flux, is a piefed feature, this is a multicommunity. They can be public (shared to everyone) or private. So you can create flux based on countries, language, whatever come to your mind...on subcribe to an available flux, import existing one to your piefed instance...

  • That's why we moved our french communities there, on jlai.lu. so if you have a jlai.lu account, you can set your timeline to local and then every news will be french.

There is another solution : PieFed. With PieFed account, you can subcribe to the flux i created :

Oh i forgot, on piefed, we have a keyword filter. You can add trump, musk, eipstein and then ask piefed to hide or blur those posts.

I hope it helped ya somehow :)

  • Interesting, thank you :)

  • Yep exactly that would be fairer and more equitable that way :)

  • You are right we shouldn't explain federation. But tell them for example with PieFed, they can watch peertube video, comment to mastodon group...but not federation. For me, it is the strongest point of the fediverse.

As for the instance, it would be great if they have an instance picker : what are your language ? Favorite topic ? Then give them several instance.

  • Yes but the problem is the centralization and they may want an instance with their own language and culture. I think LW is too big and should be redistributed to other instance. But it is also a good starting pack. :)

  • I wouldn't recommand lemmy.world there are lot instance they can pick up 😅
