  • I can second this. It's the current best option in my opinion.

  • Actually, being able to listen to anything at any time has made me more distanced from music because I have stopped learning about artists and just used the Spotify "radio" of artists I knew from before Spotify.

After I cancelled Spotify I but buy stuff from Qobuz and Bandcamp, and I really consider before buying. Cheap self-published stuff I usually buy without thinking, but anything that has a label I only buy if I'm more sure about it.

I mostly buy albums which had also the advantage that I get to know an artist more deeply rather than just knowing their 5 most popular songs that appear in Spotify radios. Also, albums often have a theme or story that give them some personality that Spotify radios don't have. Arguably you can also listen to full albums on Spotify, but somehow I never ended up doing that.

Another advantage of at least Bandcamp is that you can filter artists by genre and country or region, which helps discover artists from cultural contexts you are interested in. That's one feature I love it for. Because this way I can find artists that I could actually see live one day, and I understand their music better because I know better where their perspective is coming from.

  • Does it need to be forged in one piece? Because if you are fine with it being welded together, the limit is based on how high of a scaffolding we can build. I guess you can go as high (and the height also as width, assuming you want a standard shaped pot) as the Burja Khalifa (or however that was written). But it may be quite expensive.

  • May not be in USA, because the employer doesn't pay social security on your behalf.

  • "our AI detected you are about to orgasm, but unfortunately you are out of CumCoins and hence vibration was disabled. Pay 5€ now to reenable vibration"

  • So it's like a mix of a porn paysite and spirituality?

  • Spider man!

  • I don't think this is that surprising news, I wouldn't have thought it was the onion.

  • Relative anonymity

I don't know how Usenet works, but how is it anonymous? If it has central servers, police can just ask them for your IP address. If it's peer to peer, police or others can just participate and log your IP address.

I mean that is from the perspective of using it for piracy. Or what exactly do you mean by anonymity?

  • They only kill yourself if not used, and not others.

  • Yes: speeding and inattentive driving, especially use of phone.

    No: seatbelts and broken taillights.

  • You mean you just steal everything now?

(Originally the question was missing the first word, that's where this comment is coming from)

  • Google says there is none

  • Exactly my experience.

  • Probably not enough to get recognised as a brand.

  • At least for cargo, I have also seen ideas to bring sailing ships back. After all, a lot of intercontinental cargo is not super time critical.
