  • Maybe? I dunno, seems a way for people to treat it as a get out of guilt free card. Some types work as stimulants to promote burning more calories rather than helping minimize intake.

  • The guy is an over eager would be tyrant, and the rest of his party knows they'll be the ones in firing range when people finally get sick of him. Slowly it starts to show that he's lost the plot and needs to be ousted...

  • So keep jabbing yourself full of weight loss drugs so you can consume more empty fast food calories.

In the mean time, vaccines bad and should be hidden. It was less than a year ago when the health department made some sense.

  • I sometimes think he's just scared of the spooky pen moving like a ghost was using it...

  • Not that I pay attention to the platform, but I gather these where prominent accounts claiming to be real muricans who totally supported prez turnip but where entirely fabricated. In theory an account either needs to be legitimate, or marked specifically as a parody of some sort.

  • Given Alabama's rep as the punchline of incest jokes I'm not sure 'One Alabama' is a great slogan. We're all one big family...

  • Crockoffs one could say

  • The people planning the update to X, IT staff don't tend to make changes to public facing interfaces without having some level of an idea what that change is going to bring.

Given the tendency for a lot of political talk on there, and the owners recent adventures in doge land I can't believe someone hadn't looked into this before pushing to prod.

  • They would have know this before putting it public, and someone signed off on the deployment. Here's a bet that Musk or his surrogates got a nasty gram from the whitehouse telling them to shelve it.

  • That constant feed of notifications and prompts to partake in the daily/hourly event/contest/whatever from a bunch of apps is enough to make the most resilient mind kinda twitchy and anxious. This isn't surprising in the least.

  • Tried, but things got so slow the picture hasn't made it here yet.

  • When you suddenly realize how disposable you are to the cult if you dispute the word of their deity...

  • I'm something of an outlier in the use level for sure with all the self hosting. When my kids starts downloading these several hundred GB games for the consoles though that take hours to pull it can sure eat the bandwidth up. Makes me wonder what the more typical home user's average is.

  • There's a fiber build in progress around here that I expect is going to kill all the existing local carriers, or at least force them to drop prices by a drastic amount. Nothing close to $5 though.

  • That last mile thing would make a lot more sense if the carriers kept enough staff to have appointments not take a week. Add to that the wireless carriers around don't have much price advantage either, but that's mostly a 'fuck you, we can' pricing I figure.

The joys of living in the corn fields.

  • A VPN creates a private tunnel to route traffic over, so in effect they need to have the bandwidth for both your payload and the tunnel overhead.

  • Watterson is a unique guy that I seem to recall at one point said he didn't want C&H to turn into some big merch/toy driven thing, trying to just keep it about the story instead. Leaving it before it could be corrupted was probably one of the best moves he could make.

  • It's really just the first additional outside of the primary. My employer has a self+children option (in case the spouse has their own plan) that's around the same as a self+spouse.

Has worked well for me, but keeping in mind that email is probably about the hardest thing to properly self host.

DMARC/DKIM/SPF/MX records have to be set up properly, DNS for auto config and such preferable, and dealing with a myriad of mail IP blacklists (good monitoring service for free: https://mxtoolbox.com/) all come into play.
