  • At least in Murican law I'm pretty sure any use of any image that's not public domain could technically be flagged.

Ignoring the legal, morally and just generically, t's good know the origin if you use it routinely. If nothing else someone might ask if they think it looks good. I'm kind of a pic/meme hoarder that wouldn't be able to tell you where the specific origin of most are though.

  • I recall what you're talking about, but was it even attached to the fedi? I thought it was a xitter thing to compare your style to others.

  • Because the admin lets me post semi-random thoughts on it, plus it makes a nice space heater in the winter and background noise in the summer.

  • Couple dead pixels from a particularly bright light might well make them unable to do their plate reading job efficiently. Might make for an interesting study.

  • Define funny. Statistically people fart several times a day and some people find that hilarious.

  • Every time certain segments of society speak it causes small potions of the audience's brains to drip out of their ears. These bits are scraped up off the floor and, after mixing well with some tapioca, come to plausibly resemble the mental functions of the person last heard speaking.

  • While I'll agree with the not broke/don't fix it when it comes to 'we made the buttons sparkly' type updates, there have been trends in UI design over the years that make it easier to get places without the old mile long branch menus that people should make use of where possible.

  • Says the dude keeping a case of it in the bathroom of his house.

  • Beauty of the fedi, you can post from one instance to another without needing a separate account. For example mine is a single person instance with no local comms, yet here I am.

Edit: I think I missed the intent of the question. What you would look for is just the same of the comm@instance.tld on your own local base and assuming that federation functional between the instances it'll show up to subscribe to. There's no translation needed, but if you're the first to subscribe from your home instance it might not show up right away.

  • No, I'm using 'she' in the context of the medicine woman in your story, or more simply, those continually suggesting non-support for the Democrat party because of their failings. The math of our system allows for two parties at most in the sense of presidential elections.

Rather than seeking to push people away from the D's it would be a far more beneficial thing to work to implement local and state level rank choice or similar system votes. Until that happens it's a choice of 2 options, and one, while dull and stagnant, is leagues ahead of the other in terms of treating the population with some level of civility and dignity.

  • I would be more inclined to view it as she's actively trying to dissuade people from helping the patient that everyone knows is sick.

  • Proposing running better candidates isn't the same as 'genocide joe' was objectively worse and did x/y/z things that means the D's are bad compared even to the current situation. It'd be lovely to get some younger, more progressive sorts out there, but when the alternative is what we have now and people stay home because someone doesn't pass their ideals test that's a bad trade for all of us.

  • And yet you have people on here bitching about how Obama/Biden Clinton where so much worse because Dems bad.

I think there was at one point an instance called 'lemmyporn' or similar but they might have quit to let lemmynsfw take the role. Otherwise there are a few comms on general purpose instances.

  • Tale is it went offline recently and the admin is gone for a few months.

  • My go to for messing with chat bots is Kobold that'll let you split the work between multiple GPUs. I get the impression the actual processing is only done on one but it lets you load larger models with the extra memory.

  • I was using a Nvidia 3060 for a while, then had 2 in one box, then switched to a 3090.

The amount of vram is a big factor for decent performance. Getting it to not sound like a predictably repetitive bot though is a whole separate thing that is still kind of elusive.

  • Pretty sure the primary point of a 3rd party auditor is to be free to audit without reprisal. My guess is they mean similar to how they just stole the evidence of murder in MN and refused to let local investigators see it.

The 1933 election followed the previous year's two elections (July and November) and Hitler's appointment as Chancellor. In the months before the 1933 election, SA and SS displayed "terror, repression and propaganda ... across the land",[1]: 339  and Nazi organizations "monitored" the vote process. In Prussia 50,000 members of the SS, SA and Der Stahlhelm were ordered to monitor the votes by acting Interior Minister Hermann Göring, as auxiliary police.[1]: 345
