It does depend on gender, but also on race. Even many of the medical procedures are inherently racist, since they were developed mostly with white men in mind. Especially anything that calls for visual checks can be very biased.
Great that you figured out what works for you. I mostly listen to Indian classical music (mostly sitar) or instrumental heavy metal nowadays while I'm working.
I simply can't work with any video playing in front of me. Never. Doesn't matter how many times I've watched it already. Music is fine, but only instrumental. Add lyrics, and I'll get distracted.
It's simply the truth. Go around and ask 20 people if they've read a single piece of poetry in the last year, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
It's not even being edgy. Most people don't get high concept art in general, and there's nothing wrong about it. I certainly don't understand classical dance, or abstract paintings. You need some degree of competence in any art form to truly appreciate it. To think otherwise is incredibly arrogant.
Sure, but there are other languages in the world. In Bangla, for example, we formally use different words for different genders of animals. But people often add the equivalent of boy/girl in front of the animal name to signify its gender. For us, there are no hard rules for the usage of these adjectives/nouns.
I'm not sure I like the idea of demonizing people just because of a word. Unless it's something as fucked as the n word, it might just be a matter of dialect. Many non-native English speakers I know use female as a replacement for woman. The intent is the more important thing. Sometimes the most well spoken man can also be sexist.
I took a look at it. From what I understand, some of the lines in your setup are redundant. The final product seems to do basically the same job as mine. In any case, if it works, it works.
Hey, great post. I have one request. Can you maybe add some description for what the iptables entries do? I have a similar setup with a lot less iptables rules that works well for me. But I'm not an expert in networking, and am now worried that I might be missing something that can leak my home IP.
You can already do it. I have Signal create daily backups, sync it to my NAS using Syncthing with versioning enabled.
